Who to give Exodus to?
RED/ARCHER:
Platinum Helm/Platinum Armour
Giants Helm/Carabineer Mail
Dragon Helm/Dragon Mail

KNIGHT/BUSHI:
+850 hp

BLM/MONK:
Platinum Helm/Platinum Mail
Souleater

MACHINIST/UHLAN:
Decoy
Oil

WHITE/TIME:
Battle Lore x2

SHIKARI/FOEBREAKER:
Stamp
Magic Lore x4

I havent even levelled my knight machinist or archer but i see some good options there like oil and decoy on the machinist but i dont think i even need to level that combo up. Im leaning towards 850 hp on my knight cause eventually i will probably level it up and it will be a tank no doubt. If not then id say heavy armour for the monk since thats one of my mains and i do have to switch to poles occasionally and i end up berserking it too. Rdm gets more heavy armour though but i just dont see why id level it up when i have the blm.

What do you think?

Don't think it matters (all the choices are mediocre). I would say Knight since more HP on tank never hurts.

The Knight/Bushi just gets the 500 HP from Exodus. The other 350 HP license is available on the Bushi board either through a quickening or through Battle Lore 8 on the Knight board.

Having some heavy armor on a Red Mage is usually not a bad choice with other pairings (like /Shikari) but since you have it paired with Archer (who gets better heavy options with Shemhazai later and doesn't really need heavy that much to begin with) I'd probably also give it to the Knight for 500 in this case. Unless you really need someone else on Decoy duty or you're regularly using your Black/Monk as a melee character for some reason, it's the only option that's likely to make any kind of difference.

For that reason maybe i just give uhlan decoy and oil lol. Anyway yeah my whm uses decoy and my blm only switches to monk on bosses where magic doesmt work(which is starting to happen more often). Tbh i think i need to level up my knight/bushi and just roll with beserked shikari and beserked knight on bosses. While blm is the best thing in 90% of random encounters it sucks on so many bosses as they all have resists or immunities to almost every element and status (theyre always immune to oil). Whenever i do the shikari and monk beserked (no heavy armour and all battle lores unused) the bosses get destroyed...but im guessing the majority of that damage is coming from the shikari/foebreaker. Ill just give it to the knight i think even tho bubble puts all my characters at 9999hp. Actually i think rdm gets the best deal by having 6 heavy armour pieces unlocked...its just ill never use it lol. Another reason to support putting rdm with my black in the first place

Btw one of the espers (cant remember which) gives 4 guns to shikari. Is this necessary when i have hand bombs innately? (Which is my ranged weapon)

Yeah, that's also Shemhazai. It'll basically be a tossup between guns or heavy armor and Esuna/Cleanse for your Red/Archer.

In this party's case, it's really just down to what you'd prefer. By that point in the game, neither guns nor bows are likely to be your go-to sources of damage.

Also, just FYI (in case you didn't already know), the screen only displays up to 9999 HP but bubble can actually put you over that cap so extra HP on the knight won't wind up being wasted.

Yeah i only saw guns as an alternative to melee damage and hand bombs are actually pretty good ranged imo as inflict statuses which i love

This esper atm is doing my head in tho i get him to 10% no trouble then all of a sudden he becomes immune to something and i just get demolished. All bosses are cheap in that respect tho i get them to near death and then all of a sudden my party is dead from nowhere. Most bosses also just overload you with statuses 😐

Is there any need to take heavy armour 7,8,9 AND 10,11,12 on the the archer/red or would it just be using the 10 11 12 ones?

No - that's why I recommended against giving Exodus to the Red in your case. The Archer has a better alternative in the Shemhazai unlocks which also get you Esuna and Cleanse.

I want to give monk heavy armour so it at least has good str armour for when switching to poles but it appears the esper that gives it the highest heavy armour is better used on someone else. Which esper would you recommend to give monk some heavy armour?

*shrug* Zeromus, probably. The only other worthwhile choice there is Addle/Shear on the Time Mage which your Archer and Breaker already have and likely won't use much, if ever.

Yeah i use a shikari/foebreaker in main party i wouldnt really bother with breaks on the white/time mage (even tho its my main) especially if zeromus has better options. Monk/Time and Monk/Archer seem like good combos for this reason tho

BTW; Archer/Red combo can unlock ALL the heavy armour licences available to BOTH classes with one esper, as there is an overlap on the two boards, so unlocking one set of heavy armour on one also gains you access to the heavy armour on the other board. Just thought I'd mention this. IIRC, the extra set is Maximillian/Magepower which have some of the most useful stat bonus for hybrid style characters like this. Red/Archer benefits from the Speed, Strength, AND Magic boost.

I didn't catch that but yeah, they overlap on the Dragon set so Exodus or Shemhazai would do it.

Given the choice, I'd still use Shemhazai in this case.
