Alternatively, if you find the game too easy still I'd STRONGLY recommend checking out the Struggle for Freedom mod or it's hardcore variant, SFF: Proud Mode. Those will kick your ass ;)
-Don't ever load from the autosave
-You can do Trial Mode but you can't bring its save over
-You can't reset jobs
-You can only use a single 'deck' of gambits
-Don't use the map overlay
-[Optional] Use 2x speedup, though I believe IZJS actually uses 2.5x or even 3x
-As an aside, the PC version has NG+ and NG- minus selectable from the get go, but it's the only one -- other systems they behave like IZJS where you need to complete the game for NG+ and Trial Mode for NG-.
As far as I know controllable Espers are in IZJS so that's fine.
There are a couple things that would need to be modded in to REALLY get the IZJS experience, such as AoE tier one black magic and Cure, but for the most part the above covers it.
Zodiac on the other hand gave us an actual Class System and removed the freeform nature, forcing you to only use specific classes, but you can pick 2 of them to mix and match and try to build your own class with those presets.
So I don't see how playing with only 1 class gives you anything close to the original version, and this suggestion confuses me. I was doing things like making Basch a "Paladin" by giving him buffs to magic and healing spells while being a tank in the non-Zodiac version.
FFXII Zodiac Age is a remastered version of FFXII International Zodiac Job System, only released in Japan I think. So there are actually 3 versions of the game. The original version, IZJS (only released in Japan, i think), and Zodiac Age.
That's even more confusing, I didn't know there's 3 versions.
Yet the topic title clearly wasn't talking about about the original.
And then both Hanyuu and myself were talking about stuff clearly not in the original as well.
So what you wrote is pretty much akin to "stop lying to the OP because you clearly don't have any idea what you're talking about".
I can understand not knowing about IZJS given it was Japan only, but perhaps try reading what you're responding to.
Maybe tone it down a bit. Its one thing to KNOW that you dont know something but still comment, but its fine to NOT KNOW you didnt know. They can learn from this new information, its called education, and it leads to personal growth. Now they know and wont repeat the same mistake.
It's they fact they didn't go "hey wait a minute, this doesn't match up with the info I thought I knew, why is that?" and effectively accused me and Hanyuu of lying.
You're taking offense where none was given and making this into a larger problem than me simply saying I was confused. I accused no one of doing anything.
