How to change party leader

Sorry for the silly question, but I can't seem to figure out how to change party leaders.

when you have control of a character in the field, press up or down on the Crosspad, that should kick on the party leader selection. (done without opening the command menu)

otherwise, you can juggle the party selection in the subscreen to move the little leader flag to whoever you want.

Thank you for the answer. I'm using a keyboard, but figured it out as I have to use i - k (default settings) to change.
