Gambit question?
What (if anything) is the difference between "enemy weak to" and "enemy vulnerable to". Just about to pick up some black mage gambits and don't know which to pick.

"Weak" means that the target would take extra damage from the element.

"Vulnerable" (unfortunately) just means that the enemy won't absorb/gain health from the element. You'll still take action against enemies that are immune to the element however and potentially waste attacks.

From another thread

Vulnerable and weak are two different things. Weak is for enemies that are weak against the element. Vulnerable is for enemies that can be damaged by the element (i.e. aren't immune to it or don't absorb it).

unless you know that a monster is weak to an element, then your mage will attack it if you set enemy weak to, but if that enemy isn't weak to any element, then your mage will not attack it.

Which basically means, to use weak effectively, you need to know if that monster is weak to a certain element. I would use "enemy vulnerable to" gambits for the most part, as the mage will attack most enemies, as long as you set your gambits right. also your mage will attack an enemy if the enemy abosrbs that element. so watch your damage, if your not doing any damage, switch to something else.

You want to use "Weak to" most of the time. If you chose "Vulnerable to", the character with the Gambit will constantly cast the spell on any enemy that takes full damage from the element (doesn't absorb it or resist it) and run out of mana pretty quickly

You would set "Weak to" as the top gambing and then "Nearest enemy/Leader's target/etc. - Attack" below it

Again, be aware that 'Vulnerable' ONLY ignores targets that absorb/gain health from the element. A character with a Vulnerable gambit will still happily target enemies that are immune/take no damage from the element.
