Anyone finished the bestiary yet?
Only need that and Cartographer to get all achievements, but I feel like cartographer will take a bit longer since I really don't know where to begin searching! lol

Any tips on how to make it a bit easier are appreciated, I'm mostly missing Rare hunts (like 55) and 5 or 6 Entites, which I understand are an uncommon spawn in many areas.

If there's anything else about the game I can help you out with please do let me know!
I really liked the way they ported FFXII to PC (possibly my favourite FF) and I really hope people are enjoying it as much as I did (then maybe we won't have to wait so long to get PC versions like with this/FFXV lol), so let me know what you think about how the game turned out and what you enjoyed/didn't like about it.

Finishing the bestiary seems like a pretty insane task, what with all those rare spawn mobs. Good luck...

There's a number of tricky spawns, I suggest looking things up because figuring all of them out on your own is an exercise in futility tbh.

I'm planning on doing all achievements someday, like every game i play but never actually get there lol. bestiary and cartographer do seem like the most difficult to get.

I think I already muffed up cartographer by not getting the entire palace of rabanastre when i was there.

edit - i really wish it was like FF4 on steam/ios where it actually tells you when youve completed a map rather than just having to guess at it. if that is even how it works, i assume you have to turn all of the dark grey on the maps to light in order to get the cheevo...

Tips for who haven't complete the cartographer yet:
- Need to set foot in every area of every map, not "full explore" every corner of a map, as the achievment seuggest;
- Great Crystal doesn't count, after all there is no map of the place;
- There are some places commonly missed by players, you can find suggestions in the internet, and you can check those locations with the World Map if you bought the map from a mog, no need to move to every area to find out.

For who haven't complete the bestiary yet:
- Must kill every enemy 1 time at least, inclusidng espers, bosses, optional bosses, marks and rare game;
- No need multiple kills to unlock page 2 of any monster;
- Better start hunting rare games at least after Phon Coast, because many rare games spawn only after joining the Hunt Club;
- Use a guide to check which rare monster you have killed or not, know its spawn condition AND location in the area, knowing the location saves much time;
- If you're planning to hunt Larva Eater don't forget to also defeat Ultima (Esper) and Omega Mark XII (optional boss) as they're all located inside the Great Crystal, so you don't have to get back in that awful place anymore;
- Took me time to find out because there are many misinformation about Larva Eater spawn condition, but it is: at Leo Gate Stone, kill every Necrophobe (but let at least 5 of them divide), then keep going from Leo to Way Stone XIV util it spawns, there is no need to chain 255 enemies as you may read somewhere, although chaining 255 Necrophobes will help counting and will give you a chance to get the extreme difficult rare drop from Larva Eater.

I'm not sure what this has to do with getting the dagger to drop. You get the mob, it can drop the dagger. The end. HOW you got it to spawn is entirely immaterial. The only way to increase the drop chance would be to build a chain beforehand, then use non-chain-breaking kills inside the Crystal. Is that what you meant?

I mean, you may read that the 255 chain "is a requiriment for it to spawn", as I read somewhere. What I'm saying is if you find this somewhere know that it isn't true, the chain only helps to make count for yourself how many you already killed, just need to kill 255 no matter the chain. That wasn't clear to me when I tried, losing time to keep the chain as if it was necessary.

I get that, but why would it have any effect on the dagger drop?

It doesn't. It's a part of the Danjuro strategy on the PS2. I tried to get the blade on the PS4 using the same trick, but didn't have much luck. I was only able to get 2 (maybe 3) Necrophobes to divide. Larva Eater would take forever to appear (and would usually appear together with Reapers). Then I also made the mistake of killing it near the edge so it didn't drop anything. After a couple of kills I accidentally broke the chain and said screw it, I don't want the dagger. :D

That's always been my policy before even trying to get LE to spawn :P

I'm sure I'm late, but wanted to help anyway (just got my Platinum) for the Bestiary you only need ONE of each specie. Wish I'd known it sooner xD and for the Cartographer don't forget about the Bhujerba Terrace map and the Lhusu Mines Site 6 North
