Final Fantasy XII the zodiac age WON'T RECOGNIZE DEDICATED GRAPHICS CARD
Hello, everyone.

I have an Inspiron i15-5567-A40C; it has an AMD R7 M445 4GB GDDR5 for a dedicated graphic card, but the game only find my Intel integrated one.

There's a closed topic with a similar problem and it's solution here, but it didn't help me. I couldn't solve the problem through the AMD graphic card software.

It's impossible to play it with the integrated graphic card.

I first thought you had a big typo there - now i know i want to slap Dell left and right for naming their Laptops like that..... (And i would gladly take an Intel i15 CPU :P )

Have you used the AMD controll thingy to set it to use the dedicated (joke of a)GPU for the game? Are you sure it is using the iGPU and not jsut your settings being to high?

Haha! That's right.

The AMD software installed here does not make clear which video card is prefered in each case; with the intel iGPU is the same. Some games use the AMD card, other's don't. Normally I check which one is in use at ctrl+shift+esc, the task manager.

FF XII uses the iGPU, as indicated both by the task manager (where the AMD card shows as inactive) and by the selected video card at the graphics options displayed at "new game", one that doesn't allow for any change whatsoever.

Sorry if I misunderstood you: when you said "the dedicated (joke of a) GPU", was it referring the AMD one? Is it that bad?

Thanks,
Raphael.

I suspect you're encountering a similar issue to the Helios Predator laptops in that the "dedicated" GPU routs output through the "integrated" GPU. I could be wrong, of course, but it does sound a lot like that.

Yeah, sadly it is. (Still better than what my laptop has) - as in many games it is just 50% better than you iGPU....that is being just a bit better then the mid-garbe of intels iGPUs.
