You don't need to defeat the first wall. The game literally tells you to choose between fighting and running away ;)

The first wall battle is optional. You can simply run to the other side of the corridor and fight the first wall later. The second boss must be defeated, but the battle is much easier.

Ok i've done that but i can't get into the secret map where do i go from there i've done the 2 other section but i can't get to the secret section. They mention a hidden jewel how do i get to it thanks.

The secret section is the reward for defeating the 1st wall. If you can't do that, you don't get the reward. But it's a bonus, so you're not required to defeat it to progress the story.

You can also come back later in the game to defeat it and claim the reward (though of course you may not want it anymore then...)

If you really want to get past the first wall now and don't mind being cheesey here is what you do...
1. cast haste and reflect on your party before the fight (you should have a hastege mote by now)
2. set any mages you have to target any party members with ether dark or aero
3. watch the wall melt under the torrent of spells

Honestly, unless you're playing a modded version of the game, beating the first wall isn't even worth the trouble anymore. In the original version, you could get a very powerful sword (relative to everything else at that point in the game). But in TZA, the reward for winning that battle is just a Scathe mote. Not really worth the trouble IMO.

Don't you get to fight Belias and then have a choice of a second job??

That's part of the main story; whether you beat the first Demon Wall or not, that will still play out.

That's in the main part of the tomb, which is behind the second wall.
Behind the first wall is a scathe mote and some flan. Once upon a time you used to be able to get a demonsbane where the scathe mote is

What if I don't have anyone to cast reflect? I've got 2 mages but they are WHM and BLM :\
I really don't want to respec just for this boss.

I've tried using Quickenings but I'm still not sure how they work. I've read of people doing 15 hits on that boss and I struggle to do 5 or 6.

Use a reflect mote if you have one.
But again the fight isn't worth the effort, though being good with quickenings definitely helps.

Obviously there's a lot of luck involved in quickenings, but strategy as well. For most of the timer, taking mist charges should be top priority so you can keep putting them out. However, once you start running out of time, it's better to get another hit in, because the extra time it takes to reshuffle after you take a mist charge could run the timer out.

Indeed I had a reflect mote and didn't even realized it! A few reflected aeros and quickenings and down it went :)

Cheers!
