Items sold for sidequests

I sold the Great Serpent Skin & the Cactaur Flower. Does this mean I can't complete some sidequests? Am I missing out on something essential?

Is there a savegame editor which I could use to give these items back, perhaps?

You cannot buy items back after you've sold them, so if you've sold the quest items you cannot complete those quests, no.

You can use Cheat Engine to edit your game, and it's easy to add back items that way (various options).

Er, you can't sell the Cactus Flower. It's a key item.

As for the Great Serpantskin, it just locks you out of the Golden Amulet, you can still complete the main reason for the quest (Bargeim Key) just fine.

Well, I completed the required hunts, but when I go to Dantro's Wife, she doesn't react and initiate the sidequest at all. (I'm on my way to Mount Bur-Omisace.)

I believe the quest is initiated by talking to the ferry boy.

He just told me that his dad hasn't returned from the northern bank.

You have to talk to Dantro a second time if you didn't.

Going back to talk to Dantro again triggered everything and I got the key. Apparently FFXII ZA made the necessary items key items.

I didn't get the Gold Amulet, though, despite getting all the items. (5 shells, 2 phials, 3 blossoms.)

You'll still be able to get Golden Amulets in the future. The Great Serpentskin trade was just a way to acquire one a little earlier.

Er, nothing changed in TZA about this. The item Dantro gives you was always a key item.

And yeah, you need the Serpentskin to get the amulet.
