Keep in mind that while 5% drop means 20 kills on average, you can easily go a lot higher given RNG.
Given how binomial probability works, the chance to get a 5% drop after your 30 kills is 78.54% and you'd need 45 kills to get to >95% to get it.
It's not really worth farming for, honestly, especially since you get it for free in Pharos anyway if you really want it.
Actually, I got 30 Drab Wools, not 30 kills. I've actually lost count of how many I've killed, but say 40% of my kills did drop Drab Wool, backtracking with math I probably killed around 75 Crypt Bunnies, which translates to a 98% chance of the thing dropping (and a 2% chance of still not having obtained it.)
Not long after I posted this, though, I actually ended up going into Trial Mode out of sheer boredom, and the grind in Feywood turns out to have overleveled me to where I made it to Stage 82. Throughout that journey, I've done steal attempts on just about everything worth stealing, and I used the failed attempt -> exit to main menu -> load auto-save trick, and not only did I get Muramasa, I also got Masamune and a ♥♥♥♥ ton of other goodies. And so my grind in Feywood ended.
Yeah, this is good info, as most equipment drops in this game are 1% (5% at max chain level). It's important for the average RNG-crier to see that 20 kills at 5% chance is likely not enough. That said, I do think the RNG in this game (and indeed, most FFs) is utterly hideous.
