While yes in general statuses are the same whether it's a regular or -ga spell, there are some negative status spells that have different base success chances that change between the regular and the -ga version.
Sleep has 65% base chance to apply; Sleepga has 55%.
Silence has 60% base chance to apply; Silencega has 55%.
Blind has 60% base chance to apply; Blindga has 55%.
Slow has 60% base chance to apply; Slowga has 55%.
and event though it's not technically a status...
Gravity has 70% base chance to apply; Graviga has 40%.
The positive status spells are all 100% of course (except Decoy and Berserk, but they don't have -ga spells anyway).
The DURATION of status effects is always the same and based on the respective effect's base duration (regardless of what spell applied it) plus a modifier based on the target's VIT stat which is:
Beneficial status duration = Base Duration + (Base Duration * VIT / 100)
Harmful status duration = Base Duration - (Base Duration * VIT / 200)
And as I said, it doesn't matter if it came from a regular spell, -ga spell, item, weapon, or whatever, the base duration is fixed for each respective status (e.g. Protect = 60, Sleep = 50, Libra = 240, etc. etc.)
The MAGNITUDE of each status effect (how much Protect reduces damage, how much Bravery increases damage, how many attacks miss due to Blind, etc.) is always the same.
