Can I just sell all the loot?
Or do I need it for something?

Some is useful. You'll need to look up each item individually to determine what each is used for.

its a good idea to check before you sell loot, some can be sold in a set quanity, to obtain better stuff.

Here is a list

http://squarehaven.com/games/PlayStation-2/Final-Fantasy-XII/guide/bazaar.php

So I wouldn't sell all your loot, hang back on some of it and sell once you have the other items.

I wouldn't. Some loot is useful, and some when sold together in bundles, can unlock goods in the Bazaar. :)

The game keeps track of everything you sell, so waiting to sell in a bundle isnt always so great.

What I did was, when I wanted something off the bazaar list, I would just go out and get those specific items. Theres a lot of traveling you need to do when you start nabbing the strongest weapons. A lot of poaching very specific monsters

When I don't feel like thinking about it (which is pretty much every new game I play now), I just keep 10 of everything and sell the rest.

Once you reach the hunt-club rank that lets you buy Cat Ear Hoods (which isn't too far into the game), money stops being an issue anyway.

Loot helps you gain certain items when you sell the correct amount and combination of them

So its best to sell them all at once otherwise you may have to hunt for certain loot later on

as such Selling loot as soon as you get it may not be the best idea
Hang on to the rare stuff/stuff you get from Hunts as rewards. Arcana, Zodiac Gems, Snake Skin, etc.

Due to a glitch, if you sell enough items to the bazaar to produce a new bundle, the bazaar stock of the items required to produce that bundle will be set to zero, even if you've sold hundreds to them already. So keep the rare stuff.

You don't need to sell loot items in one bundle. You can sell as many as you want any time you want. For example, you can sell 1 item 10 seperate times and unlock the new item, you don't have to save 10 and sell it all together

Thats not the reason for saving some. Its for when you need multiples of some things. As each time you buy an item, the components for it are reset to 0. And on things that use items such as Arcana, it can be a real pain to re-farm them if you sold 100 of them, and loose 90 of them due to that reset that happens when buy a 10 arcana item.

Do not sell loot that you dont acquire much and you will be fine. If you can farm something pass 10 easily, so go ahead and sell

It is important to know that selling in bulk can also be detrimental.

e.g.

Selling 1 item A unlock 1 item B in Bazaar
Selling 10 item A also unlocks only 1 item B in Bazaar. ( if you sold item A one by one you can actually get 10 item B instead)

Hope you understand

People are frivilosuly using the word "need" in this topic. You dont "Need" to worry about selling something. Some loot you get from quests can be used in other quests for better rewards, but nothing is missed out on. Some bazaar recipes require materials also found in other bazaar recipes, but also, nothing can be missed. Save yourself the worry, find out what bazaar loot you actually want, keep note of what you need, and just sell everything else. It really doesnt matter

basically do what i do

open this http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Bazaar_(Final_Fantasy_XII)#Zodiac_versions

Ctrl+F the loot you want to sell. if it only comes up once, you can sell as many of them as you want with no worries.

HOWEVER - if it comes up more than once, you may want to reconsider selling them right away. if an item comes up multiple times you can sell the max required and fufill all the recipes at once, reducing the amount you have to farm. especially good for very rare items.

as far as i'm aware, the only loot item you may want to avoid selling entirely is the Great Serpentskin (i think) which is a reward from an optional Hunt. there's an optional sidequest in the Dalmasca Estersand and holding onto that item will let you get a greater reward that's very useful. (if you happened to already sell it, it's nothing worth restarting your save over. you get more later.)

Do not sell all the loot.

Investigate items before selling or follow a bazzar unlocking guide, as bazzar unlocks are somewhat complicated.

Selling things randomly would only have you needing long grinds you could have avoided otherwise. Investigate recipees for the high end items for example.

Or now you can just go and learn from experience. Farming materials for gemsteel with the speed x4 cannot be that bad...

It really isn't. Getting Kumbha and Tournesol is straightforward and not all that time-consuming. And about 100,000% more entertaining than zoning in and out a thousand times trying to get a Zodiac Spear chest.

Don't sell the teleport stones
