I'm using a DS4 but I see XBox prompts/buttons
I know this happens on every game and I just can't figure it out, why am I seeing XBox buttons?

Is it fixable so that I can see playstation buttons?

I had this exact same problem with the DS4 not getting the playstation button prompts to work. In the big picture controller settings, you need to turn off all xbox, ps4, general, and steam controller settings (basically don't have any of them checked!) and the button prompts for the DS4 controller will work. I think this will have to be patched by SE so the prompts works properly with the PS configuration checked.

I think there is a fix, somehow the game is routing it. I keep having this problem on 3 games that support DS4 buttons, Witcher 3, NBA2k18, and now this one. Problem is the fixes ive tried havent been working so im missing a detail.

-I've tried turning off DS4 support in steam, I don't understand but it seems to work the same on or off.

-Obviously i've tried wired

Does anybody on PC have the playstation controller buttons ingame?

There is two kinds of connections windows drives, so this may be our problem. DXinput, and the xbox version. Sony doesn't have a standard or am I missing something

How to keep the playstation buttons on beyond initial install?

It can be DXinput, however it aint XBox and so it fails on every single game. I know there is a work around, but without anything official from sony is there any way to play STEAM games with a DS4 and ACCURATE OSD?

I use DS4Windows, and what I did was this: In DS4Windows, setup a game-specific profile that doesn't map any of the buttons (but I kept the PS button mapped as F12, as I use it for screenshots), then simply untick the box to "hide DualShock 4" in the settings tab. You'll still have to manually toggle hiding or unhiding the DS4 when you are done playing, but this works if you still want some of the functionality of DS4Windows.

Alternatively, if you don't care about anything like mapping a single button like I did, you can also make a game-specific profile in DS4Windows that temporarily stops the program while the game is running. This should also fix the issue, I believe.

try using ds4windows and selecting ds4 instead of xbox, works on newer games that support ds4

The game has native ds4 input and will use ps buttons when you use itif you disable steam input for it. To do that Right click the game in your library then click properties then click the controller tab and where it says enable steam change it to disable and the game will just use it's native controller support.
