What's the point of the Firefly Accessory?

It literally gives you 0EXP when equipped. and does nothing more than what it says in it's description. Why would anyone want to use such a thing?

It was useful back before weakmode existed (for people who wanted to do minimum level runs)

It's also useful if you want to keep all of your characters around the same level and allow, say, Penelo ( who isn't getting used in my playthrough ) a chance to level up and not get left behind.

some enemies have levle-targeting abilities and spell (death5, blind2 and so on), that istantly and inevitably hit the charather with the right level. if you are farming LP for an hunt, or need to level up a single charather in an area with stronger enemies for loot, the firefly remove on charachetr exp gain from the equation, which sometimes is either faster or easier to plan than gain more levels

^ this. Gilgamesh has level 3 stop or something which is a 100% hit rate on any character with a level that is a multiple of 3 so you need to not level up to those before fighting him. Other enemies have similar skills such as the level 5 death mentioned in the post above
