You've never played a Blizzard game, have you.
something something joke about SE actually patching their games :P
Yeah, I like to break things... Smash them to bits. (✿◠‿◠)
Only reason I came accross this was I was looking to see if it were possible to share an autosave file with others (and where it is safe to do so); it was certainly an amusing discovery. :P
Nice! :)
I found a thread on GameFAQs after posting this which has a similar theme, although I don't know if it was reproducable and it was more broken in their case. The gist is:
Possibly related, possibly a different bug. Although I am curious as to see how renaming autosaves of points where there is a gameplay->cutscene->gameplay transition. Either Reks has some interesting relationship with the autosave system (which would mean the bug above is related to this one) or it'll possibly break some more scripts (which would be amusing to see in what ways the game can be broken). :P
Oh, and I wouldn't advise getting too into a game with this -- I'd wager it's not a case of if it is going to break spectacularly, but when it'd break.
Of course not. I have taste.

Reks has no unarmed combat animation so he locks up here. You are unable to cast either, and the "Party" option has become greyed out.
Unfortunately this appears to be the end of Reks' journey... at least without trying to futher glitch past this point.
R,I,P, Reks
Haha, oh dear... Gutted. :')
So that's where it breaks. Well, it was inevitable I suppose. :P
Although I wonder wha would have happened if Balthier wasn't already out of the party...
Not sure if it is only something to do with startup scripts (and I think that's pretty much the case), but I shall give it a go! :)
If startup scripts can get messed up, I don't see any reason why others wouldn't be the same.
And unfortunately, no... It really does look like it's a startup script issue. Guests can't be kept I am afraid.
