Yeah, objectively superior for me. x)
Yeah, subjectively superior for me. x)*
I dont think you know what objective mean
this is exactly the same as the ps2 version except later in the game you can get a second job.
oh you mean the nerf'd crappy us port. cause everyone else got the zodiac job system update. but america
I'm allowed to make jokes!
Besides, isn't having more of the option to do what you want universally better? Why would you need the game to limit it for you?
Wait, Zodiac job map isn't nerfed?
what i mean is the USA only got the original version of the game. this is the first version they got with the zodiac job system. and really the only difference in this and the ps2 zodiac job system is the names of some of the classes changed. and you can choose a second job later
Even on my laptop I can run this game in 4K @ max graphics (no AA though obviously) if I accept 40-50 fps. I don't know what the PS2 resolution is, but it's way too low for a modern TV. Also, 60 fps in this version. That alone is reason enough to play on PC.
you were probably playing it at 480p. unless you actually swapped it to widescreen
Gotta remember to fiddle with your video settings mang.
It played at the native resolution of the game, which probably is around 480p. 55" LED TV's weren't exactly the norm back when the game came out, so yeah, it looks like ass. If you have an old 28" or something tube TV though, old consoles should work pretty well.
So the problem was your tv?
Wuddabout dreamcast?
Have you tried playing a PS2 game on a 55" TV? It's not pretty when you blow up 640x480 resolution on a modern TV. In this case, less is more if you want it to look acceptable. Has nothing to do with my $2000 TV.
Only $2000, eh? Can't you make the display smaller then?
Yeah there are far better TV's out there, obviously. My point is that the size is too big for a game running in such low resolution. Go ahead and try it on your own TV and you'll see.
What I ended up doing was using my disc to create an image which I emulated via PCSX2 on the PC. Played through the game with the emulator and it worked great.
