Well that makes it a bit better.
objectively speaking, not being able to respec in this game is a flaw. Pretend like if in FF3 you could pick one job and one job only. That would pretty much killed it. The same applies here. tho, it would be good to have some... punishments for respeccing, like having to pay a somewhat big ammount of gils to someone that's only in Rabanastre and the other various main cities in the game, and it will respec to the whole team, so you'd have to pick the jobs all over again. (not the licenses points and builds, just re-selecting the classes. something that if you select a class that you were already been using, it would simply restore it, and if you pick another you, you'd have 3/4 of your LPs.)
But still, I see you have nostalgia goggles and you like to live in your past, so it's worthless speaking with the likes of you. (and I can also see you cannot think with your own head or having ideas such the one i just spitted.)
You CAN indeed respec the points, but it requires Cheat Engine. It's nice in case you were distracted and took the Archer instead of the Black mage.
PS: Old games were also SuperMan 64, Paperboy... You really got to get your crap straight.
(I've also finished this game back then, in the european version for Ps2. I've also completed Breath of Fire 2, which I would still love to have as a decent remake. Not just a 1:1 port (remaster), but a complete remake of the game.)
Yes, during Fran's berserk you can already pick your second class, even mid-fight.
The game gives you the ability to look at the jobs and you can give each character 2 jobs. unless you make your party all ehalers you won't really have a problem with the normal game.
The onyl thing i don't like is that you can not create all the combinations you would like. but it is so simple and easy to understand.
What do you mean by this? As far as I know you can do whatever 2 job combination you want for any character as many times you want(well actually up the max amount of party members you have)
It would involve using the mod tool which was made to open the game files to then open up the license board and basically swap around the licenses
No you could just use the already made cheat engine tables, takes about 30 seconds. And your way wouldn't even work it's not how unlocked licenses are stored.
It's the way to play the game in my opinion
It's the original license board meaning no class system, instead you just have access to everything and choose how you want to use your characters, while at the same time it adds in additional stat licenses that the job system added in.
Sure your characters can be OP and jack of all trades but it also means you can run whatever character you want to play as without being punished for it.
There isn't a single combination in the game that will prevent you from beating any content
