Why are my cutscenes so fast and no voice?
I just started the game for the first time and the first cinematic cutscene was running fairly quickly and there was no voice?

Same for me, there is voice, but its running at normal speed, while the video is running 2-4x faster than it should be.

f9/speed buttons didn't fix it for me, just launched the config tool and changed it to 60fps on borderless, cutscenes now playing properly for me.

had the same issue originally launching WOFF.

yeah borderless fullscreen is better anyway, and playing on a Tv helps better.

I guess I'm going to make a guide on this or something, but I had the same issue and find a solution.

First, turn on VSync (ingame and nvidia control panel) and 60 FPS. Restart the game. (Or better restart steam, because the first time it did not help me). That should do the trick for the cutscenes. Maybe the first cutscene will still be in double/quadro speed, but the others won't.
If you're experiencing this mega speed in the menu, switch to borderless mode. Restart the game. Then switch back to Fullscreen, if you prefer it over borderless. Anyway, both versions schould run completely smooth now.

I mean, this helped in my case, if this didn't work for you, i don't know what's wrong.

I started in full screen and the opening cutscene video was way faster than the audio. So I switched to borderless and now the video is way slower than the audio. Another fine PC port from Square Enix!

I have a dual screen set up and it placed it on the screen i DIDN'T want to play it on. Switched to windowed and it now works fine.

Same issue, I fixed it by going into NVIDIA settings and for this program setting an fps limit of 60

the game has some fiar problems for many people (I thankfully was mostly spared from the speed-issues).

For most people it seems to run best with just 2 simple options:
VSync on - the game really is not designed to handle any fluctuations in FPS at all.
Borderless Fullscreen - Fullscreen in windows has caused many problems in the past, FF-XII is not exception (aside from the obvious benefits like being able to tab-out when you want to look up a map or something)
