If someone trully wishes to buy this, then hope after the crack they will bother to remove it, if you dont have such high scrupules, then that wont matter and square wont get a cent anyway.
Also the whole logic of a pirated copy is a lost sale is complete logical fallacy that runs against basic economic theory. A pirate expects a game for free so it you ask them to pay 60$ the conversion rate will be extremely low. Inversely a pirate who really likes your game may end up buying it or recommending it to friends who then buy it as well.
I've always assumed anti-piracy software was just digital snake oil to convince publishers they could fight piracy to generate a healthy revenue stream for unscrupulous coders.
Quote me where I said I was boycotting games with Denuvo.
It really is snake oil.
Right here:
Oh, wait. You never said that and people lack the ability to read before they vociferously espew a barrage of animated verbiage via qwerty keyboard.
lol, yup.
And if it wasn't for my wife, I wouldn't even have this game right now. I got it for $30 on Greenman Gaming, trying to convince my wife why we should wait to save $18 for a game she is super excited about is not worth it. I talked about the wife situation on these boards a few times as well before it released. Why he thought I ever said I was boycotting this game is beyond me.
Hell, my wife bought me the Steel Box Edition for roughly 85usd for Christmas. I have no issue with giving money to SE for this game, or people buying a game with Denuvo (I really don't care how other people spend their money). I was just reading some reviews and someone mentioned Denuvo, so I did a quick forum search and found this thread. So far, this thread has managed to entertain me more than actually playing a game.
As far as FFXII goes, I played it on PS2 and was pleasantly surprised when I got Zodiac Age and the job board system was vastly improved over the dumbed down PS2 version. Two thumbs up from me.
It's all out better than steam, the only ones who hate origin and uplay are the people who just have OCD with keeping everything in the same place.
IMHO, UPlay and Origin are far worse than Denuvo. I have one game on each platform and will no longer buy any game with either of those requirements.
I have a bit of OCD, but that doesn't stop me from buying games off of GOG as a own just about 100 games on there. I have around 8 Origin games, and around 10 games on UPlay, and alot on here. It just that Steam itself you need to play the games no need for me to have to jump through hoops to play the games I bought. GOG there are no hoops, Steam alone very few hoops like keeping them up to date, UPlay and Origin I have had games not even work once I bought them and they are no help with fixing the issues, Denuvo is just plan Spyware.
I wasn't talking to you and this will be the last time I do. Come back when your IQ breaches 80.
CD Projekt Red also built up alot of goodwill with it fans by giving us the Witcher and the Witcher 2 for free on GOG if we owned older CD versions of the game, They didn't make us rebuy them.
