Is there a hint in-game about the location of the wyrm philosopher?

I couldnt find on my own how to open the ascetic door, so I googled it up. It said that I had to go back to the cerobbi steppe, and to the area where I killed a previous mark.
Since I thought I "cleared that area" I never thought in coming back.
Is there anything in the game (a quest, npc, hint) that directs me to this area in order to interact with the philopher and continue that specific quest?
