What if I toss an elixir to Yiazmat when its about to die?
Cringe incoming? Also... how I get Durandal? Never saw it in the game. Is it worth the trouble xD?

You can get the Durandal by farming the Velelu in the Nabreus Deadlands. It's fairly easy to spawn and the sword isn't too hard to get if you don't mind reloading autosaves when it doesn't drop.

It's all right at the earliest time where you could feasibly get it but slightly further in the story, you can pretty easily assemble the Karkata which does a little less damage but has a higher combo and evade rating and a 100% chance to confuse. Overall, it's hard to recommend spending the time going after a Durandal unless you're just determined to grab all of the weapons.

If you're at a point in the story where you're going after Yiazmat, then yeah, you're probably already swimming in better weapon choices and wouldn't need to bother.

Thanks. And whats the matter with these letters that appear in such weapons? Are they like more powerful versions?

If you're talking about things like the "Durandal A" or "Masamune I", they're just high-end weapon names from the old International Zodiac Job System version of the game. The letters on the whole set spelled out "FINAL FANTASY."

All of those weapons have been renamed in this version of the game so, for example, the Durandal A is now the Simha, Masamune I is the Kumbha, etc.

If the Durandal A/Simha is the weapon you were actually looking for in your original post, then you get that one from the Bazaar using the Well Forged Blade recipe. Still not really worth going out of your way to get in my opinion but if you google the requirements, the ingredients aren't that hard to get a hold of.

As for your first question, considering how fast Yiazmat goes down in this version, not that cringy.

No need to waste a good elixir though, you are aware that he casts reflect on your characters, expecting that you use Renew - of course, you should be using Curaja, but...

Yeah I noticed Yiazmat sometimes casts Reflect... However I discovered it when he was in agony and I began to spam reverse. At first i was afraid he would gain reverse condition but he´s got inmunity to that xD

Wait wait wait... Elixir with Niho Palahoa ? (or whatever its called the accesory xd)

Putting a dispel Reflect gambit at high priority is also a good way to handle it. You have gambit slots to spare on that fight.

Isn't using an opal ring on your healer more effective though? I mean if you dispel yourself your other buffs will also be gone (eg. bubble/berserk/bravery)
Whatever you want to do.

Personally I don't heal at all on that fight except for Reverse.
