Omega Mark XII (122333/New Game - )
Alright, I'm looking at videos of this to see if I can tackle it. It *seems* possible but there's various tricks on this.

1. Using your party to heal a decoyed attacker (like Balither) who has Holy weapons/ammo to fire on Omega. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw7VGUy1KL8

2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxdCvn1E81Y

Which means in theory it's completely possible to do this with no licenses (and low level). But I'm trying to understand how he does this. He brings up the menu, summons Balias, then unsummons? How is that possible?

3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FoYc4qmmuA

Which does a version of Stop Decoy Reverse (on a party member to aggro Omega onto solely them), summon Zodiark, and then use it's ultimate technique over and over and over.

I could spare the Ethers to do that, but I'm not sure that may be the best way of going.

Anyone got any tips/ideas for going about this? Is the second method possible now with this release?

Those are videos from the old version. Belias is unsummoned because that's how Espers used to work - you had no direct control over them, and were stuck with their gambit setup. Once you got their ultimate attack to trigger, they unsummoned.

Also I believe Stop + Decoy does not work, as Decoy will disappear the moment you are hit by Stop, and being under Stop makes you immune to Decoy.

However, in Omega's case I think it attacks the closest party member, so you don't need Decoy if you're good with positioning. And Reverse + Stop does work.

My worry is after stop Hits. But I can probably keep one party member under Vanish (since Omega doesn't aggro on that status) to run away to revive the 2 that get hit under the effect.

Does Omega have 1million HP in this version like the original Western release? Or did they buff it back to over a million? I'm thinking a Bravery, Berserked, Hasted Balither with non-Elemental (Stone shot?) should do decent damage against Omega since it's a Mimic(?) and those are bullet weak?

Unfortunately, it wasn't buffed. Given the uncapped damage and various other enhancements, the fight is significantly easier now.

No enemy is weak to gun damage, but a few are resistant to it (elementals, bombs, ghosts, flans, as well as Cúchulainn and Zodiark). Omega Mark XII is not one of them.

Got it, supposedly (unless it's changed in International?) I need to get the Yaizmat mark contract before Omega appears, so I'm a bit cart-before the horse and will have to come back later. At least I got most of the gates unlocked. I just gotta unlock the Aquarius ones to run through to the Omega warp.

To be more precise, you need to get the Yiazmat contract before Omega becomes ACTIVE. It's present in its spot from the start, however it's in dormant mode and cannot be attacked or interacted with in any way until you get to Yiazmat.

I used a simple tactic back on PS2 version. Vaan as tank (Berserk + Bubble + Decoy), always being renewed by Basch. Ashe casting other buffs like Protectga/Shellga etc. Everyone with the best set available (Tournesol, Zodiac Spear etc). It wasn't hard like this, but I haven't reached this far on Steam version yet, so I can't tell for sure which is the best tactic.

I don't know if that'll work without Reverse, since Omega apparently hits for like 4,000-9,000 and my party in 122333 has like 1,000-2,000 with Basch being the Outlier with like 3,000-4,000 pre-Bubble.

I'm thinking I'm going to Vanish the Fran, Basch, and Balither party. Rush Basch up. Fran reverses(?) him without leaving Vanish?, Basch Nihapaola's himself into Stop. Fran rushes up the "hill" a bit to bring a Bravery, Berserked Balither out to nail him with the gun until he dies...

Though, I'm not too sure that strategy will work without falling apart within minutes or Balither is able to hit from as far away as I've seen those videos do with his Gun.

Actually, all this theory-crafting was pretty moot.

Wasn't that bad. Burned through like....

10 Ethers
26 Pheonix Downs

Had to Dispel Ashe and Vaan like 2-4 times when Omega Berserked them. Had to Pheonix Down Balither quickly, switch out Berserker Bracers for something else. Bravery him while Ashe and Vaan Reverse and Decoy him, rush him to the front. Berserker Bracers on, rinse repeat for like 45 mins.

When Omega hit HP Critical, Balither went from liek 11,000-10,000 a hit to 2,000-3,000 a hit. Made the fight a little slower and having to do the Pheonix Down->Bravery/Reverse/Decoy->Frontline shuffle a little faster, but it was managable.

Makes me think Yaizmat (Renew aside) will be a breeze.
