And that only with Dark Robes.
Ninja Swords are really just weaker katanas.
Zodiark every now and then I guess?
If you are like most of the players, i guess you could only count the yagu blade as a worthy pick, but still, you won't be using it that much except if you like chaining babils in the necrohol of nabudis,as well as the rare game "Tower" and for the battle against the well known yazmat.
If you're like me and you like chaining entites (i might be the only one, lol ), the koga and the iga blade could be worthy too, especially the iga one, since salamander is more annoying to chain than many others.
But keep something in mind that isn't clear for everyone: the damage difference Vs late game ennemies, even against elemental weak foes won't be big at all compared to other top tier weapons such as kumbha, tournesol, and of course the zodiac spear (i don't even mention the new OP weapons coz i hate them). In fact the damage can even be inferior.
You see, in the midgame i was using ninja blades a lot with my shikari (kagenui), but now that i have reached the endgame, i almost never use it, i prefer using the best dagger of the game (Mina) since it can be coupled with a demon shield (dark absorption, handy in late game + a better evasion) and it has a very high speed, good combo rate and and a nice K.O effect.
Finally i want to add that for boss fights (igoring evasion), if you know you're shikari will fight and the ennemy isn't yazmat, having the opportunity to equip the highest attack power ninja blade you have (Mesa, the new version of orochi), can be nice for good combos.
Have fun!
many players will tell you to pick the 3 best blades you can: Koga/Iga/yagu+Mesa.
In the mid game i unlocked the kagenui blade through the bazar so i decided to get its license.
Then i realised later on i won't be able to get all 3 best blades licenses anymore, so i thought i had messed up here.
But actually, since i used the kagenui blade A LOT, and it was one of the most powerfull weapon i had in my inventory at this stage of the game, this pick appeared to have been worthy, especially since i would Not have used the koga blade except to chain the Sylphi entite.
So The kagenui license is a worthy pick in my opinion.
Since I frequently pair Shikari with Red Mage, I usually grab NS1, 2, and 4 to cover the locked items on the Red Mage board (though 2 isn't really necessary) but outside of just screwing around for fun, I've never seriously considered downgrading to the lower-level ninja blades as there's almost always something better or more versatile available.
My Shikari is practically always a tank, on anything except like 5 superboss fights. Main Gauche + Shield for days, and leave all those ninja swords in the bag where they belong until Yiazmat rolls around.
But man is Yagyu good on Yiazmat.
2 or 3 depends on what you need more, earth or water damage. Earth damage is a little more rare than water damage. For water you have Aqua boosted with a couple of different staffs, the Murasame, Aquara motes, etc. The only decent earth damage weapon aside from Koga I can think of are the Artemis Arrows. There are no player earth damage spells or items.
So generally I think Koga is more valuable than Iga, unless you some how have a team that can't use any of the other sources of water damage
