Petition for PC Version: Job Reset Feature
Hello everyone!

First off, i'm loving this game every second i play it, the Developer team did a fantastic job !

That being said, i've seen that a console version of the game has the in-game feature where players can visit Montblanc in Centurio's Clan Hall in order to reset their chosen jobs and pick another one for specific characters. The PC version obviously doesn't have this great feature.

Now, the game is super long and there are sooo many side-quests and optional zones to explore and do combat in (plus the Trial Mode which i haven't even tried, yet...) and obviously not only myself, but many many other players would like to try different Job Combinations in the mid-game, other than those we have chosen (on purpose or mistakedly).

There is a 3rd party program which allows us to edit something in the game files which can reset License boards, but my issue is that having to rely on 3rd party programs for this simple feature is something we shouldn't have to do if this simple feature could be added to the real game itself.

No doubt some of us completionists (myself included) would pay good Gil if this feature could be added in a DLC.
A DLC sounds cheesy and many players think "why should i pay for something that should have been in the game in the first place".
Solution: Add something spicy the game doesn't have yet but doesn't require a whole game's staff to program - a Cinema mode where we can re-watch our favorite in-game cutscenes (my favorite being the Princess Heist in Bhujerba :steamhappy: ) and the Original FF12 intro from the old PS2 version which (strangely) wasn't added to TZA version.

Please, please, with much sugar on top, sit down, review these options and do your community a favor to be remembered !

We have this as a mod. Because that's what PC versions let you do :) We don't need them to put it in, when the community has already done so - and more.

SE does not read posts. Do you really think they are THIS smart?

Try that mod, game is much more balanced and better. To bring second set of gambits petition would be welcomed though.

Whether they read or not, that we do not know. It's their product and i assume someone checks on steam discussions every now and then. . .
Anyways, i posted it herein as a suggestion. My main issue is that i don't like using 3rd party mods all that much, mainly because they mess with original game files and can cause that dreaded butterfly effect. Heck, call me overcautious :-)

Mods can't corrupt your game in this case, because they're not altering anything. They're injected on top of the original files, which means the process is (by definition) easily reversible. No one I know of has ever reported any serious problems with mods in this game (outside of the mod not working, of course) and I have talked to a LOT of people in and out of the mod community.

If you want to be "extra cautious" for whatever reason that's up to you, but the option to get what you want is already there, whether you make use of it or not. That also means that the publisher is less likely to ever do anything themselves, because why would they - we already have all of it, and more. What they need is incentives, and the incentive to invest money into adding the Switch features to the PC version (or any other previous version) just isn't there. There's almost no way they would sell enough extra copies to recoup the money needed to get the features in. And mods are part of that calculation.

I am using about 10+ mods, my saves are all alive and my game works just fine.

Dude... use your head...

When you want a developer to make changes to their game... you post a thread in THEIR forums.

Trying to get features added on Steam is like going to Walmart to ask Bioware to re-make Star Wars: KOTOR. Steam is a store... nothing more. And it's rapidly becoming the least favorite store amoungst large developers compared to Epic Games as Epic pays far more.

Large AAA Japanese developers won't look at your posts here. Small indy developers with one title in early access from North America or Europe might.

Furthermore... what you ask would take time, money, and man-hours. Developers will not prioritize a 13 year old game. FFXII: ZA is simply a "remaster-lite" title. It was re-mastered and ported to every conceivable platform because FFXII did not perform to Square's expectations in 2006 as it was released at the very end of the PS2's life cycle and did not sell well.

It's a pretty good idea. I think you could fit it in, like the folks with the mods have suggested.

You'll have to realize, that the 'dreaded butterfly effect' actually depends on you.
What it is: You make a choice, in so far as you believe yourself to be capable of this.
What it is not: Bugs leading to more bugs (lol... well this IS true enough, but...)

So what you are doing, is certifying layered contents on already predetermined layered basis. It's like failing to cocoon (with connotative regards to a butterfly), in believing Cocoon (this is FF13 material -- we perhaps have the mutual benefit of hindsight on this -- alternatively, we have finite [laughably contested] foresight).

I don't want it to be like, you feel you are 'losing your grasp' on your ability to maintain amazing things. The completion you are looking for. We aren't really after misrepresenting ourselves with the purpose of 'removing your completion' (like, removing what you actually consider completion to be).

Just to be more clear, DancesWithEidolons. The choices you made in performing exactly how you did while playing. And posting here. These are absolute, and are complete. So if you reset 'them,' it would not lead to 'completion' weirdness. It continues from stability. (I could offer more here, to express how)

Anyway. These lovely folks have offered many ways to tie what you want into currencies. Not so much, into gil (she laughs). I love how you want to preserve your ability for us. I see how that interacts with your time, and IMPLORE your 3rd party.

The mod listed above will do exactly what you want in the same way (at least from the user's perspective) that SE implemented in the Switch/XB1 versions. Just because it's not officially from SE doesn't mean it will be glitchy. The modding community takes a lot of pride in their work, and that includes properly testing to make sure their mods don't have unintended consequences.
