Anyways, i posted it herein as a suggestion. My main issue is that i don't like using 3rd party mods all that much, mainly because they mess with original game files and can cause that dreaded butterfly effect. Heck, call me overcautious :-)
If you want to be "extra cautious" for whatever reason that's up to you, but the option to get what you want is already there, whether you make use of it or not. That also means that the publisher is less likely to ever do anything themselves, because why would they - we already have all of it, and more. What they need is incentives, and the incentive to invest money into adding the Switch features to the PC version (or any other previous version) just isn't there. There's almost no way they would sell enough extra copies to recoup the money needed to get the features in. And mods are part of that calculation.
When you want a developer to make changes to their game... you post a thread in THEIR forums.
Trying to get features added on Steam is like going to Walmart to ask Bioware to re-make Star Wars: KOTOR. Steam is a store... nothing more. And it's rapidly becoming the least favorite store amoungst large developers compared to Epic Games as Epic pays far more.
Large AAA Japanese developers won't look at your posts here. Small indy developers with one title in early access from North America or Europe might.
Furthermore... what you ask would take time, money, and man-hours. Developers will not prioritize a 13 year old game. FFXII: ZA is simply a "remaster-lite" title. It was re-mastered and ported to every conceivable platform because FFXII did not perform to Square's expectations in 2006 as it was released at the very end of the PS2's life cycle and did not sell well.
You'll have to realize, that the 'dreaded butterfly effect' actually depends on you.
What it is: You make a choice, in so far as you believe yourself to be capable of this.
What it is not: Bugs leading to more bugs (lol... well this IS true enough, but...)
So what you are doing, is certifying layered contents on already predetermined layered basis. It's like failing to cocoon (with connotative regards to a butterfly), in believing Cocoon (this is FF13 material -- we perhaps have the mutual benefit of hindsight on this -- alternatively, we have finite [laughably contested] foresight).
I don't want it to be like, you feel you are 'losing your grasp' on your ability to maintain amazing things. The completion you are looking for. We aren't really after misrepresenting ourselves with the purpose of 'removing your completion' (like, removing what you actually consider completion to be).
Just to be more clear, DancesWithEidolons. The choices you made in performing exactly how you did while playing. And posting here. These are absolute, and are complete. So if you reset 'them,' it would not lead to 'completion' weirdness. It continues from stability. (I could offer more here, to express how)
Anyway. These lovely folks have offered many ways to tie what you want into currencies. Not so much, into gil (she laughs). I love how you want to preserve your ability for us. I see how that interacts with your time, and IMPLORE your 3rd party.
