FFXII - DS4 Controller support

Im wondering if this game will play with a PS4 Controller without any mods. I can't play FFXIII-2 because it wont recognize the Dualshock 4 controller. (without DS4 for windows, which i cant get to work anyway.)
So its either this game or Lost Sphere depending on compatability.

it says full controller support on the store page. So yeah it will work.

Can't be sure about Playstation button prompts though. It may not come. But there is still a chance because this was only out for the PS4

I would hope for the prompts. As much as i'd love to you the DS4 for every game, the prompts still appear in xbox language and it throws me off even though it's almost identical mapping

Had no problem playing with my PS3 controller with ScpToolkit, it should also work for PS4 controller.

I believe Steam has native PS4 controller support now- it will automatically read as an X-Input device. Button prompts is something we don't know about yet though

Why you use DS4 for steam? Logitech Gamepad or XBOX controller is much better and easier ro use for steam games.

I'm using a DS4 for most of my steam games. No issuess so far. And I don't even own a PS4 XD

Hey have you tried going to big picture mode and turning on PS4 configuration support? I dunno if it will work specifically for FF13-2 but it will help with some games

I know it says "full controller support", but this game was released for PS and only PS. I wonder if this will support Xbox controllers. Any input? I'd appreciate it!

I don't think that DS4 will work without DS4Windows or Steam DS4 support enabled (no other japanese S-E games support it) with corresponding playstation button prompts.

I'm not actually sure if DS4 will work, they usually botch it up and they often do keep the xbox button prompts so it's a tricky thing to guess.

Since the game came out on PS4, I'll assume it will have DS4 support built into the game?

On a side note, it will be interesting to play this game with my xbox one controller, murdered this game with my ps2 controller long ago.

Steam itself has full native DS4 support, any game on steam and even those manually added to your library that have controller support work fully with a DS4 via the steam controller API.

Hell, The API lets you easily use a controller in keyboard/mouse only games. It's a good idea to make the switch from DS4windows to the steam system becase it more refined, feature rich and allows you to set and edit profiles on the fly while in game with the overlay.

I will wait for Kaldaien button mods in Special K =)
But some games like Rise of Tomb Raider has true native DS4 support (without steam api enabled), with lightbar, playstation button prompts etc..

Its going to have ds4 support

"You get the options for full controller support or mouse and keyboard controls. If you are using keyboard and mouse then the mouse can be used to move the camera. The button prompts for PS4, XB1 and keyboard control are all supported, and the prompts will automatically change to reflect the device you are using."
