How did you manage levels and experience?
when I played this the first time, I remember trying and using all my characters in order to make them level up together since they don't gain exp when not in the active team. But as I went on, I noticed how my team was getting underpowered compared to common enemies, and so I decided to pick only 3 characters to level up and use, while the other 3 where left at really low levels, only to heal the main party in case they got killed.
Did they change that? I really hated having to stick with my main team only and leaving the others to fill in. :beverysad:

I found this on levelling

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-08-18-final-fantasy-12-the-zodiac-age-lp-farming-license-points-exp-jellies-grinding-4112

So even if you outlevel the area, just crank up the speed and you will gain LP fast.

Have to admit, I'm looking forward to getting this game.

There's no real reason to grind levels ever, I don't think. As soon as you get all six characters for good (so after you get Penelo back and she's the last one), that's the point where you're going to have everyone all the time from then on out for every combat scenario. So what I do, personally, at that point, is synchronize EXP using low-level enemies on the Estersand between two parties. Like, my first party is Balthier, Ashe, and Penelo, and my second party is Vaan, Fran, and Basch. I'll get Balthier, Ashe, and Penelo with the same exact EXP value, and then do the same for Vaan, Fran, and Basch. Once that's accomplished, though everyone should be about the same level anyway, I go back and forth for each party to keep everyone on the same page. Say, after synchronizing everyone's EXP, Balthier's group is level 22 and Vaan's group is level 20. I would use Vaan's group until they got to level 22, then swap to Balthier's group, and when they hit level 23, go back to Vaan's group, then they hit level 23, go back to Balthier's group, and repeat for the rest of the game. The whole group in each party will level up simultaneously with synchronized EXP values, so it's easy to keep everyone in line.

massive amounts of grinding for items, gear, and side missions did it for me mostly. I wanted a full team of 99's for the big bad lizard with stupid health the first time so I just spent the time grinding after I didn't have anything side mission related left.

the best way to play final fantasy games is not grind at all just do the story the gameplay will become more challanging

That was exactly what I did that I didn't like tho. I got too underleveled using this method. It was either grind or follow the story

I did it. It was awful to only use half the party

I dunno what to tell you, it's the method that I used for both IZJS and TZA, and I closed out both games at level 77 doing all content possible up to and including the Pharos just before losing Reddas and level 83 after doing all the content that opens up after Pharos before ending the game. If you want level 99, then you'd do some grinding, but there's not much reason to do that unless you just absolutely must max your level.
