Hi folks. I've been working on a game's virtual machine script decompiler/compiler. This mod is a result of some tests. TBH it's just a Proof of Concept. But hey, who said POC cannot be useful, right?


This mod does four things:
  • Skips Square-Enix logo and autosave warning, then goes right into title menu (so it saves a LOT of time when you're testing stuff and launching game over and over, like I do). If you don't want to install this part, just remove ttl_a01.ebp from "data\ps2data\plan_master\us\plan_map\ttl_a\ttl_a01\global".

  • Gives Montblanc in Clan Centurio's Clan Hall in Rabanastre a few new dialog options, namely (it's basically an in game cheat, but it's optional and depends on your choice):
    - you can ask him to give you 1k, 10k and 1M GIL
    - you can ask him to give you all usable items, all equipment, all magics, all technics, all gambits, all espers, all key items.

  • Gives Montblanc an option to satrt a TRUE New Game Plus for you. You'll keep all your items, equipment, stats, bestiary, hunts, etc. Basically, you start the story from the earliest possible point (just after tutorial/intro - starting earlier will make your stats reset anyway, when you reach this point).

    note, that I had to manually reset a lot of global flags to prevent locks during some quests/main story (the earliest being sunstones in Giza Plains). I think I've got it all covered, but if you find anything, just let me know, and I'll try to fix it.

  • Gives Montblanc an option to reset your license boards, allowing you too choose new ones and start from scratch. All basic licenses are properly reset, LPs are refunded and all items are properly unequipped.

Installation:
  • Place the "patch" folder in your game's data directory (where FFXII_TZA.vbf is).
  • Run install.bat in "patch" directory. If anything is wrong, it will show an appropriate message.

Uninstallation:
  • Just run remove.bat in "patch" directory.

Planned features:
  • Teleport location reset on NG+.

TBH, I'd like to work more on the tools and let others handle the mods themselves.
If it allows us to fix this ourselves then that's even better, in that case getting familiar with the game would be a problem but I can deal with that haha. These are all just my suggestions on how to improve what you already have anyway, so just do whatever you want.

That's what I assumed. It should have some advantages, so I don't really mind. Still they should probably be reset, that's kinda the point of ng+, getting unique rewards again.

Only Shadestone and Sunstone for now, we don't want people to complain their Pilika's Diary is gone when there is no way to get second one again, etc. ^^. Unless you also make sidequest reset then you can remove all of them honestly.

What I think should be done is to just reset every side quest if you feel like hunting down every flag, remove all key items and quest related loot that is known to cause problems, I can only think of Pinewood/Sandalwood Chops, you probably took care of those though. But there could be other stuff like Nebralim, Semclam Shell, Valeblossom Dew - Patient in the Desert related, pretty sure having more than required amount is not game breaking but I'd still remove them because they need to be all given out for the quest, and there would still be no way to get 99 of each.

In fact this is all loot I'm concerned about, just checked wiki and Split-Infinity's guide, other need to be tested but from what I remember they don't cause problems when you cheat them in. This should be much better than Switch version where they strip us of every loot without a way to rebuy bazaar items quickly. Also I like how you allow us for taking all characters to ng+, which keeps their hp/mp intact.

  • Fixed reversed phoenix lore licenses (if you had only one of them, you would either loose or gain 60LP during job reset - thanks to dropletsoflight for pointing out the issue).
    (I Checked all other licenses and I'm quite sure everything else is fine now).
  • Shadestones/sunstones are now removed from inventory on new game plus.
  • Replaced vbf patcher with a slightly older version. The new one had a bug that could result in VBF files corruption in rare circumstances
  • Improved guest and party member removal during new game plus (if this option is selected).
