Just wondering if anybody was in the same boat as me and changed their mind over time of the new style.
Once you'll have it you will be able to create differents stratergies for your characters according to the job you gave to them.
And later in the game, each character will be able to get a 2nd job, allowing you to experiment the combinations you like (just beware it is not possible to repect, choose carefully).
I have Gambits to me just dumbs down the game more where you just have your characters auto fight.
First of, it takes a while to pick up, and the lack of an obvious protagonist makes it difficult to care about anything that is going on. Not to mention that at the beginning everyone is just treating each other like a means to an end, which makes it harder to sympathize with the cast.
The middle is a bit more exciting, but the story of FF12 is probably my least favorite of any FF, so there's that.
And then the end is just... there. I found the gameplay to be the more exciting thing about this FF, but the cast is pretty 50/50 and I don't care for the story in the end.
But 12s still more positive and light hearted than tactics, just gotta look at different FF's for different things.
The gambits are there more to get rid of some of the tediousness of normal fights and level grinding.
You may want to do the marks (hunts) that the game have, there are 50 of them and all of them are unique, and FF 12 is the only game that Gilgamesh is a ridiculously hard battle, there are guides on google that covers all of them if you're interested.
And if you're looking for challenge, try to explore some places early game where youre "not supposed" to go, like the Zertinan Caverns, you'll level up a lot if you manage to kill the monsters there, and if you have a Breaker in your party, the Vrscika (strongest hammer in the game) can be obtained very early in game
Isn't it? Because when i fought him, he was dealing 2k damage per attack and comboing everytime.
Well, unless you use perma reverse like a wimp, you're going to die a lot there.
Honestly, the only remotely hard fights at endgame involve instant-K.O. mechanics because that's the one thing you can't guard against.
That's what i was refearing to.. It must have been because i was very underleveld or i fought him the moment the hunt appeared, but it got to the point that he was killing my characters faster than i could revive them, i had to run around the map to stop him from attacking me, but even so, he was spammin that special attack on my face from afar. And there's that part where becomes imune to damage and you have to endure it..
And yeah, i didn't use reverse / wither against him at all, so maybe it was it
What is this trident of oracle, and how is this going to stop him from killing my characters in 2 hits?
