wow im actually appalled by how stupid this is
so me and my friends have been dying in the dummest ways behind cover it turns out you eye/view height isnt ANYWHERE CLOSE to your character models head in this game. so when you crouch behind cover you are literally never hidden. me and my friends just tested this in the range and my friend crouched being extremely tall cover and his entire head was exposed even though on his screen his head is halfway down behind the cover.

how the hell is this even in the game 5 years later. actual madness so there is no point in crouching behind cover in this game because youre never actually truly hidden. i urge you to test it with someone its hilariously bad no wonder we've been dying in such stupid ways behind 5ft tall walls

so just telling you here that the amount your model "sticks out" is dependend on the skin you use. Theres one skin with like a huge top hat and he sticks out like he has an entire extra head on his shoulders

thats not the way to remove headglitching tho.

You dont remove headglitching by making a bad system with bad models. You remove headglitching by making the shot come out of your actual weapon instead of your characters eyes (like in 99% of shooters)

Tarkov doesnt have a headglitch problem and the models are exactly where you see them

absolutely not the best way to fix head glitching is to have bullets coming out of the weapon instead of the camera. having the camera in your nipples is the dumbest fix for that ive ever seen in a video game. i would even call it a fix its de-insensitives taking cover with results is whacky ADAD spam combat instead of using cover which puts you at a disadvantage because you cant tell if what youre ducked behind is actually cover because of the utterly mediocre 1st person camera placement. you'd expect something as poorly designed as that from an indy game not this

Camera is in your top left shoulder area. Secondly, pretty easy way is when you hide behind cover, look down.

But other games just embrace it, hunt tried to somehow fix it by making misaligned models, which is not the way

There was also an issue in the past where some hunters sat higher than others when crouched. Not sure if they fixed that or not.

do you not hear how dumb that sounds. why should we as players have manipulate our characters model by looking at the floor in cover instead of ya know just fixing the camera perspective of 1st person view. its 100% not top left we was testing it extensively in shock of how terrible it was and its below the chin at the very least. ive actually never seen anything like this in any FPS kinda mad.,

yes i know and this wouldnt be a problem but because our camera (aka the point of origin for your bullet) ISNT anywhere close to our character models heads 99.9% of cover youre crouched behind youre never actually behind it.

Mountain Man also you can shoot the bear head and it doesn't count as a hit.
wrong. we tested it. my friend has a big ass hat that was sticking miles above the cover we shot it and it counts as a headshot. im telling you its ef'd up how badly its off

thank you. this is why gaming is taking a dip because when you critisise something youre seen as the enemy, when most of the time its the opposite its because you like something and want it to be better. instead theres people out here defending terrible game design that comes across as more broke then a "fix" for head peeking
