While I like having tons of trait points and an uppercut for dirt cheap, i do think it completely negates any fiscal incentives for buying legendary hunters, even with them now only being a $100.
For tiered hunters I can see what I am getting trait wise; with legendaries its totally random.
You could spend $300 on legendaries before you get one with the traits you want or with enough trait points worth of traits, for you to sell off, to get what you want. Meanwhile the tiered hunters you can see exactly whats going to give you the most for your money.
For tiered hunters I am getting a melee tool and medkit and a random tool (the medkit alone is $30 i think); for legendaries you get only the skinned hunter and the random traits.
If you reroll for $300 on legendaries, attempting to find one with enough trait points for what you are trying to do, the $484 hunter i mentioned at the beginning comes out to be $184 extra for an uppercut and all the tools and consumables. That being said you could still get good traits for for $100 but then you would be missing out on the great deal of $384 for an uppercut, the other weapon, and all the tools and consumables.
This all being said you can play the game how ever you want and you dont need to be min maxing with the economy in this game to enjoy it. I definitely don't always go in trying to bring the most maxed out hunter I can. A great aspect of this game is that you can win with even the most basic loadouts. I guess I just think think its a bit of a bummer that legendary skins now are disincentivized if you are concerned about money. I also heard you get more free hunters when you have less money. I really like the sound of that. Hopefully it allows people that aren't as good to sill play the game how they'd like to play it. Rednecks and Redshirts running wild
I don't have much to add to this, I just found it funny. It's a fair opinion on both sides, really.
Yes it´s cool less Legendary Hunter, which in my opinion never were a problem at all, but adding tons of ggod traits for a penny doens´t help the game at all.
However I do think this makes the Legendary Hunters much less appealing to pick, which is kind of lame because I do like running certain legendary skins sometimes. I think they should make it so legendary hunters are $200 again, but roll 4 traits with good combinations (iron eye/levering, quartermaster, fanning, etc) and have the traits rolled be a minimum of 12 points rather than 7.
I see how this is all a huge power creep, but if they are doing it for Tier 3s, they should do it for legendaries too. Personally I think this makes the game way more fun and I get to use guns/loadouts I like way more often. The necessity of certain perks (Doctor, Physician, Packmule) balances this out inherently imo.
