They can't hack server side information, only things like ESP and aimbots are really possible, things that are client sided.
Also, just because people headshot on their first shot doesn't mean they are cheating- most people try and headshot first shot when ambushing.
Not saying there are not cheaters in hunt, but I feel you are just rushing to conclusions here instead of considering any other possibility.
also, they could have been taking turns hurting the boss and shooting at you.
Yes, they can.
You got a spinbot that will 1 shot everyone on the map with compact ammo at 900m, there used to be a video of it on Youtube if you want to look it up. Also extreme health regen that will keep the cheater full life as long as you don't headshot him.
About the OP : there are spots in boss lair buildings, usually little rooms linked to the exit/entrance, outside of the boss aggro zone so you can lose it when you want.
I recommend you spectate players you suspect of cheating once you are dead to make sure you're not just rage blaming.
I know about safe spots, but this person was literally stood right next to the boss without any aggro, and was just moving about the boss lair as if the whole thing was a safe zone. That building has that tiny room at the back as a hidden spot from the boss, they just stood next to it and were completely fine.
Then the AI is just ♥♥♥♥ sometimes, or they were out of sight and quiet enough, or there were walls between them, or something explainable that is hard to gauge without a video/seeing their perspective.
They definitely were not cheating in that instance because it's borderline impossible to.
While sure it could be a toss up when hit by sus headshots; but in that particular instance, no one was cheating.
You misunderstand. You're talking about non server sided things.
I have found this weekend in particular there are far fewer cheaters and hackers. I was actually wondering if Crytek had done a new wave of bans or something.
Well, killing people at 900m with compact ammo through terrain is not supposed to happen from a client only perspective, something was changed server side for these shots to be valid.
I understand you meant the boss can't be modified by a player as it is server side, but I guess modifying the player entity to be perceived as a grunt by the boss would have the same effect.
What is useless is Easy anti cheat. Crytek are to cheap to buy a more expensive version of EAC or even better. A WORKING ANTI-CHEAT!
Fudge, I cant stop playing because I love hunt. But I hate Crytek. I wish steam would just say no. (Sorry Crytek, you are not welcome on this platform anymore!)
And if you continue to witness this, then I'd assume you'd make an effort to start recording after you die you watch them do it to the rest of the server and sending the info so they could get banned?
Edit: I normally just block them on steam if they don't have a hidden account so the matchmaking won't ever pair me with them again
