LOL huuge video
But, even if that's how things *can* work irl, that's not how they *should* work in a PvP game, where the objective is to frag or be fragged. Right now, the game mode at short range if 2 people have 1-shot weapons is "frag AND be fragged, then hope your teammate gets you up or you're a Solo with Necro ready to go". That's not very fun, both players are forced to stop playing now instead of 1 being left standing. Way to go, CryTek.
The problem is the system Crytek put in place is essentially pro-high ping lag compensation.
Client A (You) with 30ms ping shoot player B with an 800ms ping, on your screen, because your Client says "Hit", you see the kill, enemy player drops.
Player B, with 800ms ping, does not immediately get the message they have been killed.
BECAUSE they are not yet dead on their client dude to bad connection, they can "shoot you" and get what THEY see as a valid hit.
Now both clients say "we see a valid hit and kill" so everyone does.
The alternative?
Server based hitreg, where the server says, "Sorry Player B, your connection is trash, you are already dead and therefore your shot never existed"
It's not just trading while using guns, it's also if someone melees after being shot.
I've been killed and also traded with players that have their back to me on my screen over the 6+ years I've played.
