D3D12 Device Removed: A fatal error caused the GPU to crash or hang!
I will share an interesting experience. I completely deleted the old game, reinstalled the new one, set the controls, graphics and other parameters both in the game and in AMD Software. Next, I deleted the "shaders" folder and performed a file integrity check.

I started the game. Both in shooting range and in soul survivor my game always crash after about 2-4 minutes. The error message sounded the same every time - D3D12 Device Removed: A fatal error caused the GPU to crash or hang! I started looking for advice on the internet. Restarting the game, Steam account and PC didn't help. I then started running the game as administrator: two soul survivor games and two trio games all worked. Then Hunt started to crash again, on average twice per game.

My knowledge regarding the settings is not great - I currently have no idea how to start playing without the game crashing. I have a high end setup (Ryzen 7 7800X3D + RX 7900 GRE), the original Hunt always worked without the slightest problem on the highest resolution at reasonable temperatures (graphics approx 55°C + processor approx 60°C). It's clear to me that a possible solution to my problem will be to update AMD drivers (I'll wait for a "clean" version, I definitely don't want to install beta drivers.) But that means waiting x days for AMD to release them. That's why I'm asking - does anyone of you have any idea how to solve my problem?

P. S. I don't want to criticize Crytek (there is a lot of criticism on Steam and other social networks), but I would like to solve my problem in a constructive way. However, I will not forgive myself one remark - in my opinion, it's not the graphic design or UI which is important, but the gameplay. And the fact that 2000 people have tested the game without figuring out the problem that haunts me and prevents me from playing (I like Hunt and have +2.2k hours in it) is quite disappointing. In general, I feel like Crytek has been ignoring the AMD community for a long time...

P. P. S. Of course I wrote a detailed crash report for AMD support as well. In case they reply and their solution makes sense, I'll be happy to share it here too, maybe it will help someone.

P. P. P. S. Another possibility that could be responsible for my problem, according to some comments on various forums, is the presence of DirectX 12...

Thanks in advance for your help.

In Adrenalin set max GPU clock -200MHz and try again

Reduce your GPU's mem and main clocks. That is a GPU crash. I used to get that same message when my Vega started getting older. Reducing clocks bought me more time.

Thanks for the tip, I tried it. I lasted about 15 minutes in the Soul Survivor game, finished it without a crash. Then I went solo in Bounty Hunt and the game crashed again after about 6 minutes. So I'll keep looking for a solution.

EDIT: The correct answer is -400...

I have a brand new (about 3 months old) graphics card that is slightly undervolted like the processor. The memory is also new. So this advice doesn't quite make sense to me. Thanks anyway.

new does not mean good you could have a bad card. run a gpu stress test see if it is still crashing. also make sure your fans are all coming on.

I did a stress test last week, the graphics card is perfectly fine, the fans are working. All my games are working normally, the original version of Hunt was also working without the slightest problem. The problem only started with the advent of the "new" Hunt, the crash problem is solely caused by the new version of Hunt. The error message refers to outdated drivers, new drivers have not been released by AMD yet. This is not a problem of my GPU, this is the new Hunt problem. Still, thanks for the comment.

Reinstall GPU drivers and reset to defaults all your undervolting, overclock etc. Also try it on different pc. If the error appears again - I would recommend buying a new GPU. Nvidia this time.

Otherwise, I'm still waiting for an AMD driver update for my graphics card. Adrenalin version 24.7.1 was released on July 19, so I reckon the new update could be out any day now. The sooner the better - as things stand, Hunt is unplayable for me...

I have reinstalled the GPU drivers, I am not going to change the undervoltage, I didn't overclock. I have no possibility to try the game on another computer. I'm not going to buy a new GPU, especially not an Nvidia one. I don't like its corporate culture, it's the same as Intel. I've been an AMD fan for over twenty years and will continue to support them. There was no problem with the previous version of Hunt - it's clearly Crytek's fault for apparently not testing the new version of Hunt on AMD's high-end builds. I don't know why this is, but I think Crytek should fix it as soon as possible. My PC set has no problem with any other game. I've been looking into this issue extensively for the last two days and what I've read is, in general, a gameplay issue (game crashes) on high-end builds (btw. not AMD only). Anyway, thanks for the comment.

P. S. I use a Sapphire NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16G GDDR6 graphics card - it's the quietest high performance card I've ever had. With subtle undervolting it offers a great performance/consumption ratio. I understand that owners of Nvidia GPUs might laugh at me, but I wouldn't trade it for a golden pig. :o)

How do you know it's not your perfectly calculated undervolting causing this? You can always save your profile, restore the defaults, try the game and set it back to previous values if the problem still appears.

If you're not trolling us here of course.

What do you think about the possibility to try to reduce -400MHz? Thanks for the answer.
