New Engine/Update is not good

I used to play on Very High settings with little issue on my 2070, now I can only play on medium and still struggle to maintain 60 fps if multiple throwables are in play. The new engine seems to have no real change to the graphics from what I COULD see while playing on very high, and now that I am playing on merely medium it looks like an early PS4 game.

Additionally, the new UI is somehow harder to use and navigate than the original, while looking straight out of a mobile port of the game. UI icons that used to be short tabs are now giant icons that take up a sixth of the screen and it takes seemingly double the clicks to accomplish anything.

i'm on very high with 2070 and things are amazing. 60+ fps and everything looks real. something else is at play here with your stuff.

I can get 60+ fps in the training grounds on very high, but if too many throwables are out, or in real matches my FPS lingers around 40ish, dropping to single digits if more than 2 throwables are being used.

and as said, works like real life, if real life was 60 fps. i really don't know my fps now, as i turned of vsync and didn't check. 60 was vsync.

Not a single person I know that plays this game hasn't had issues with the new engine causing us to drop settings down a good bit. They really needed to run a test server with this update, between all the bugs, the new UI and all the optimization problems they really needed something more before putting this version on the live servers.

Getting a solid 100-140 fps while using DSR to upscale.

Get 200+ fps without upscaling.

Textures on Ultra. Almost everything else on low for visibility.

I like the new engine a lot better. No longer have those stupid dancing lines, the ground has actual texture, lighting is way better.

That said, UI sucks and I lost a bunch of hunter slots.

I haven't played much, but I get well over 100 FPS at 1080p with a 6700k/2070 with DLSS set to quality.

I'll edit or respond at a later date with more accurate numbers. Graphics are a mix of low/medium/high.

Maybe if there are areas of the map that I should be focusing on?

Edit: I quit years ago, so I'm not sure what FPS I was getting back then. I did used to use DSR to 1440p.

Maybe it's not actually the engine at fault but the sheer mass of context to the new map. There is barely any barron land to it at all.

Maybe Crytek just over did it with the design.

Still doesn't explain why there is a massive difference in performance for users though. Especially when you factor in people using a 4090 but getting worse performance than people on a 10 series Nvidia card.

Hello, for the Nvidia users among us, Graphics driver version 551.52 has gotten me a lot of my FPS back. (and I'm recommending it to others I know with great success so far)

There seems to be a VRAM leak in the current patch of the game.

If the version works for you. Please spread it to anyone you know that has issues!

I have serius problem with performance I have amd 3950x and 3070 and my pc struggles to maintane 60 fps, in some areas the fps drop to 20/30 fps, it needs to be optimized.

where our fan boy duncan been anyway? im surprised he isnt over here saying theres no issues on his end or his friends end and its the isp providers routes blah blah blah. did the update remove the duncan mechanic in the forums as well as the good UI?
