My friend (and i) cant join each others lobby

Yeah i've had this problem too. When you make a lobby it automatically sets it to solo, and this new UI is so ♥♥♥♥ it'll be minutes before you notice it. Just set it to duos and it should work again, it did for me and my friend.

I noticed it in mabye first 2 seconds and changed it. I dont understand the whole crying over an UI.

Bro, try to play a console made game on pc, now switch the roles and you'll see, the new ui sucks, console players cried about the old ui and now it sucks, why can't we do the same? Robot.

You have to make sure you both have the same region selected. Had an issue with a third for a trio, we were in US East and he had it selected but it kept booting the invite. The third had to go in and select US West and the East and the change took. Was able to invite him after that.

Me and a friend had the same issue, we found that if even on same region, restarting the game might work.

I tried the thing with region and it still does not work.
We changed it even to russia and other locations and the error message is still the same.
We restarted the game.
We both chosed DUOS/trios
I guess i just need to wait until tommorow and it wil maybe be fixed.
