Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

New players at disadvantage
I will only play this solo as that's how I roll and i'm ok with that but looking at the game after a match, is it me or are newbies at a massive disadvantage as they lack a lot of weapons and attachments.

Is it too late to get into this game?

Appart from new battle pass weapons that every player has to grind, all guns and perks are available to everyone, you need a little grind to earn BL exp and that's it.

I just got a silencer for my rifle which obviously in this game is awesome, and the other guy seemed to have a better long distance rifle, I might be wrong, just trying to work out how the game works and if it is too late to get involved in it.

literally every weapon can one shot kill, you are brand new to a game you dont understand and you blame disadvantage when you havent even learnt the game basics? Its obvious you got mad because bad and had to make a rage post lmao.

The man asked a question and said he is ,"trying to work out how the game works".

How is that getting mad and raging? For some reason you sound more angrier than he is.

Also silenced weapons have terrible damage drop off and low ammo velocity to make up for it's "advantages".

You can't expect to just own when you're a noob. Especially in a game like this where there's a lot to learn. Raw aim will only take you so far. In Hunt you can outplay your opponents by outthinking them. It's less about the gear you have and more about how you use it.

Ye i'm getting that vibe off it quite like it
Just stick with it and you'll learn. I suggest spectating other players when you die and use nvidia highlights to understand what you did wrong or could've done better.

I think it`s too late for newbies to get in because I don`t understand how new players are supposed to stay in this game longer than 2 hours.

Play with a duo and learn the game. Stop crying and get better.
Thanks for the helpful advice. This is not about crying at all, the fact is the game is unfriendly to the new players. Again it doesn`t matter if u will use the better gear or not against other players if you as a new player will be matchmade against experienced players who know every nuance about the game, exploits, guns, and die for seconds, it doesn`t help newbies at all.

I agree, that with some time spent in the game, you will learn it, but I`m complaining that there is no eco-system for new players to let them adapt, and feel the passion of the game at least for the first 10-20 hours between newbies. But what do we have, I`m dropped against sweaty players and dying over and over again.
It`s an interesting game, but I thought with a new update it will be some "room" for the new players.

To be honest, new players are at a disadvantage in every multiplayer game simply because new players have not yet developed the game knowledge that those with more time and experience have. Stick with it and you'll learn, then I'm certain you'll be winning your fair share of gunfights!

Ye that's fine obv new players are at a disadvantage just wanted to know if it was just skill/learning the game or if some people just have OP weapons

Clear question, clear answer:
No, they do not have OP weapons that you do not have.

You have access to the same base weapons as everybody else, "unlocks" of variants of these weapons come by using the weapon.

Example:
1) You have "Gun XY" (as everybody else)
2) By using "Gun XY", you gain XP with said gun.
3) When enough XP with this gun is reached you unlock "Gun XY - Variant 1"
(usually 1-3 player kills, or X amount of AI)
4) When you now use "Gun XY" or "Gun XY - Variant 1" you gain XP to unlock "Gun XY - Variant 2" ...

All the other players have maybe unlocked these variants, but thats all.
No matter if your opponent has 4000 hours, 40 hours or just 4.

BUT all of the above does mot matter:
Every gun in Hunt is lethal, once you learn to handle it.
Expesive gear does not win you games in Hunt.

The advantage of the players killing you is simply experience, nothing else. Nothing you cannot learn yourself.

AND you have to understand:
These 200 hour players you fight against... they are also "noobs" in Hunt terms. Sure they have more experience than a "fresh starter", but still...

We have a saying in our hunt discord community:
"The first 1000 hours of Hunt are tutorial."

(Which of course is a joke, but it should showcase that there is so much stuff to learn in this game, that it will simply take a while)

nah it's not to late to play Hunt it's only skill issue
I invited 3 of my friends and they can compete with old players

The game was harder back in the day, since base weapons could only be unlocked with a specific level.

Now all the base weapons are unlocked from level 1. You only need to unlock the variants of the base weapons. And if you prestige, you will start at level 1 anyway.

For example, back in the day you could only buy a Mosin at level 74 or what it was. If you didn't reached level 74, you could only snatch a Mosin from a other player.

Now the Mosin can be bought from level 1. You only need to unlock the variants.

not true at all
everyone gets access to all the basic guns
the upgraded guns are not strictly better

you can use stuff like a winfield (or what ever the name of it is now) pretty well even in high elo. 100% skill issue. it took me like like 20 hours the first time i played this game to finish my first prestige, unlocking weapon varients is pretty fast aswell.

The only thing you need is intellect and aim then you can win even with the cheapest weapons.
DukeoftheAges Aug 16, 2024 @ 5:43am
You can wipe any lobby with the basic gear, it's all skill

You get guns unlocked with progressing through bloodline.
It doesn't take that much time and in fact many people reset their BL to get prestige lvls, some people did up to 100 times already.
Plus, appart from some MUH OP AVTO AND DOLCH, it's mostly about you skill and cheap winnie and romero are as deadly as expensive mosin and c&k.

"You get guns unlocked with progressing through bloodline."

This is no longer true.

All base weapons are unlocked by default and you unlock the variants by getting XP from using that gun, or finding blueprints/gun oil. Also with the update yesterday, all custom ammo is unlocked by default.

If you're new player get ready to get screwed hard. So far lost all my hunters now I just go trash characters with no equipment, and Im up against players with fully kitted gear and skills. This game is anti progression

It is probably too late to play ANY video games at this point. People have been playing video games since the 80s and you'll never catch up now.
