Hunt: Showdown
General Manager David Fifield should be replaced
The communication and overall direction of this game is lacklustre at best. Hunt has so much potential yet it's feeling lately like there is no one steering this ship.

In 6 years the only real changes we've got to the base game mechanics is 1 new map, 1 new boss (or 2 including Rotjaw), and a few basic AI variants. All the weapons are great, but it still feels like the core game hasn't progress. Weather effects, in my opinion, are awesome, especially the fire.

All this sh!t we didn't ask for, like drone beetles, charms, shooting range, dark tribute, and of course MORE $$ DLC SKINS. The UI is an utter disaster and would no doubt turn a lot of people off playing the game past the 2 hour trial limit. They completely missed the KISS principal (Keep It Simple, Stupid). Trials never even got finished after 6 farkin' years! I loved Trials at first, but it seemed like GM David put in the "couldn't be bothered" basket.

I'm ranting at this point. There's SO MUCH to be dealt with. Just a simple update from GM David would really help extinguish some of the fire that is starting within the community.

#FireFifield and get someone in with a fresh vision and the leadership strengths to take control.

They'd rather it be a giant mystery and have an angry community instead of communicating with us at any point. But wait, Duncan Idaho will come to the rescue yet again and let us know how incredible this whole experience has been for him and his wife. Perfect servers, perfect communication from the devs, no cheaters, just flawless experience for Duncan.

Duncan Idaho and his 'rose colored glasses' of course when it comes to this game and especially those CRAP leaseweb servers. If he took those 'rose colored glasses' off, he would see the game as we see it; **** servers, slews of bugs, cheaters, and more!

Now the ONE thing I will disagree on here is empty servers; that is BS as I play in the evenings (Eastern Standard USA Time) and the lobbies are atleast 75% full here on US East & West, Europe, and South America servers. Don't give me that "Empty server" nonsense as that is utter BS and I don't buy that crap for even a nanosecond! Otherwise everything else negative about this game is fully true.

Denial and butthurt? What are you even on about?

Duncan had nothing to do with this topic, and yet people are complaining about him and the things he usually says, which tend to be true. But they'll deny it.

Your original post was actually intelligent. I'm not commenting about you. You sounded like you knew what you were saying, rather than the typical Hunt forum post of "hurr durr game is dead and manager should be burned"

Ok, Duncan's alt account.

Ah ok, fair enough. I'm not even sure who Duncan is to be honest. I just think this game needs a new General Manager to steer it on a better path.

He is a troll that gaslites everyone on every single discussion. There is no chance he has "Never had server issues" while playing hunt. that's impossible. If you stick up for Duncan then you are either him on another account or just another troll.

You're going to get a ban or the thread locked by mentioning that user.

Back in topic...

Crytek have a track record of being very slow to communicate and update/bug fix their game. A lot of people are upset with DLC because the money spent on skins doesn't seem to be going into the game. Idk why people would even defend Crytek about that, but some still do.

I'm going to give Crytek another chance (I'm not sure why) with the engine upgrade to hopefully fix the back log of bugs and be able to implement game and balance changes regularly, I don't have much hope for it but I am coping slightly so we'll see.

Sometimes I wonder if Big Dave even still works there. His X account he was posting Hunt related stuff constantly now that's even silenced.

The CM Purple seems to advertise the new DLC on The Discord but that's about all we get.

There was a screenshot post by her on The Discord the other day mentioning "update later" giving off the wrong vibes but it was subsequently moderated out of existence.

I managed to get a screenshot of it though.

Even if I agree with you. I can't see it happening since Hunt most likely became way more profitable for Crytek as he joined. And you have to ask yourself if the potential replacement is going to be better or worse, right?

Anyways. It's good to see the community finally wake up though.

If they keep doin' it this way maybe, just maybe it will backfire enough and they'll have to address it, instead of just ignoring.

Still not a single teaser for any new content. Be it engine upgrade, boss, map, questlines, game mode? That is quite worrying.

Yeah good point, there could always be someone worse. I guess I'm just frustrated with the radio silence. It is good to see the community wake up and hopefully Crytek takes notice. I dread the day Hunt disappears as it's been my favourite game since the day it came out.

Crytek is a business trying to make money like every other business on the planet and they are obviously doing so. The Battlepasses must make a decent amount of income for sure.

In an ideal gaming world devs would be constantly improving their game and introducing new content but it's simply not going to happen as making money is priority number 1.

Long gone are the days where Devs made a game that was polished and finished at time of release.

Now it's just like meh we have the Internet so we can patch things that break.

Look at Early Access for instance. Devs are managing to sell their product and they get paid for users testing their game for them. Then they can simply just say nah, we not happy and close the game diwn.

It's absolutely genius on Developers behalf.

A bit off-topic. But sure, you are not wrong. :)
