Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

Gpu and Cpu Usage
GPU sits on 40-50% while cpu 60-65%. I only get about 110 fps, sometimes 120 sometimes 90. Game is all on max settings. Why is that?
rtx3090ti, i7-8700k, 16gb 3200hz (playing on 1080p beacuse of reasons, tried with a 2k monitor, only difference is a couple of % more on gpu usage)

On 1080p u are probably getting a bottleneck from ur CPU cuz it cant push the rtx3090ti frames,,,

on 2k is basically the same

you need to lower object detail to increase the fps a little bit; I had that cpu once, and the only way to make it to a 144 fps with it was to oc the cpu pas 5gz thing that I would not advise unless you have a delidded it, you can try to set it a 4.8 and you should be able to andle the object detail to medium with a minimal loss of performances

all cores are set on 4,7ghz already

I have a 5900x and Gtx 1080, I get around 90-110 fps on 1440p

I have a friend with the 5800x3d and a 3080 ti, they get around 130-160 also on 1440p

I will say while your cpu is at 65% it doesn't mean it's not a cpu bottleneck. If the game does not utilize all of your cores, that's how it will display. It was the same when I had a 1700, it would show 50-60%, but I was getting 70-80 fps on 1080p. Upgrading to the 5900x gained me no small amount of frames.

Also, the reason bumping to 2k doesn't do anything to your frames, is because your GPU is not your bottleneck. a good general rule of thumb for what is taxing is "The more objects there are, the more cpu intensive, the higher the quality of those objects, the more GPU intensive". So changing the resolution does nothing to affect your cpu usage, same goes for quality settings.

Not enouth if you whant more try 4,8 this should give you a littke bit more witouth alterin the cpu temps (stock voltage should be enouth since that cpu in overvolted by default)

your 3090ti is a monster gpu so you are CPU bottleneck even at 1440p. Nothing new here.
So buy a much faster cpu if you want more FPS

can i have a gpu? i only have gt 610

imagine you have a RTX 3090 TI and play on 1080p...
Either upgrade your CPU ( CPU bottleneck at higher FPS) or up your screen to 4k (GPU Bottleneck most probably)

are your rams in dual channel? thats some abysmal performance
i play on an 1070, with an even older cpu like 6700 I think.
In 1080p i get around 60-80 fps max settings

the game is really poorly optimized

Your CPU isn't good enough for your GPU. As for Hunt - garbage optimization.
I've R5 5600X / 3070 Ti - 2K resolution, 160 fps(though on low, haven't tried higher settings).
Also lower resolutions put higher load on CPU

the 5600x perfom a lot better than a i78700k despite having the same core count and lower clock, I remember that I paired that cpu with a rtx 2080 and I had no bottleneck issues in the few games I tested (not my pc but I payed for everithing on it^^), wile that same gpu was bottlenecked by the i7 8700k I was using previusly (even when I pushed it a 5.1 ghz but the situation greatly improved in many games)

by the way I use the game on low expept for the textures and objct details as well despit ehaving a 5900x and a 3080, but I cap the game at 144 fps to reduce the impact of the framedrops

ryzen 5900x and 3080 and the game crashes when i tab to desktop and kicks me out mid game. Related to new update or....

just fyi, ryzen 5900x, 2080 super, 2k res, locked on 120 fps, zero drops, all settings low, only object quality on medium, without the lock I get around 200 fps but heavy drops to 120 fps so I locked it at that frame rate for aiming consistency

also, speed of the DDR matters, going from 3000 MHz to 3600 MHz and optimizing timings (all timings, not only primary), mostly with Ryzen, will give you 10-20% boost in fps, same with cpu oc
