Edit: Crytek classifies it as Use at your own risk. If banned they won't unban you for it.
Some streamers use it, and given they have never faced any consequences for doing so publicly, I'm gonna have to say even if it is against the rules they don't actually do anything about it.
Also, some monitors have crosshairs built in, not much crytek can do about that.
-Keep the game fair: do not cheat, do not use third party programs, do not use client-side hacks, and do not exploit bugs and glitches
https://www.huntshowdown.com/conduct
So basically, use at your own risk. I personally don't see how this can be exploited, but it can potentially open a door to more shady options. Crytek doesn't seem to really enforce this rule, but at anytime they can.
Anyone can justify any action, no matter how horrible.. until they are caught.
-Private in-game profiles
-No killcam
-Numbers with no factual data to back them up
-No Feedback on the reports put in
Just a few examples
For example replay system - there's no technology for it (atm) in Cry Engine. Other games maybe has it - but it would be too costly to implement it. So that's that. What's next? Private profiles - you gotta have that cause GDPR in the European Union - People need to have ability to have private profiles (if they want).
What's next? Numbers? Developers can't share anything (again - GDPR cause they are based in über Germany). Same with the Feedback system and reports in general
WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS CAUSE GDPR AND FACT CRYTEK IS BASED IN THE EU (GERMANY).
-Many games don't let you see them in the first place, let alone hide them. There is nothing there that "Confirms" cheating anyways so that doesn't tie in.
-They have touched on the troubles with this before, please read up on those.
-Like... what you are doing right now? You just made a statement with no evidence or factual data to back it up.
-You get the usual cookie cutter reply most games give you, yeah. They could do more on this front. I like how steam tells you when moderation action has been taken, and dead by daylight is finally even going to start telling people when action is taken.
They could do a bit more here, but that is not "endorsing cheating".
Literally everything you take issue with is literally just....normal management for an online game. Nothing extenuating by any means.
@Echorian:
-There is Zero information that is personal in the Hunt Profile, only info there is for other players that go up aganst that player can use to balance their stats aganst. I'm even in favor of only shows the stats of those you encountered, I don't care about those that wasn't in my fights that match, just those that I was in.
-Just excuses, anything is possible if they put the money to it.
-So hard facts on the numbers they give on the actual players they ban ?? no names... so how do I know its not just random number they spit out.. Again, Zero Feedback on hackers being banned...
-now-a-days, yes.. cause of people like you that except it with a side of tarter sauce and ask for more excuse sandwiches... There has been plenty of games in the past that has provided excellent feedback on hackers.. H1Z1, Darkfall, and Counter Strike... though CS I haven't played in decades... so yeah, pretty sure their 'fan boys' probily let them get away with doing nothing as well by now.
Adding a new line:
-Fan boys that help protect/enable cheaters in online gaming for ether self interest of ignorance.
So let's say I buy this overlay called HudSight from steam and use it on Hunt and if they ban me for it, does that mean steam sells cheats?
Well, that's not a good answer and they cannot ban someone just because they want to, the ban has to be justified. They are not gods, they offer a service for paying customers, know your rights.
