According to the all power AI overlords soon to rule over us:

Blowtorches have a long history, with the earliest known evidence of their use dating back to the late 18th century. German inventor August von Marquardt invented a blowtorch in Eberswalde in 1797. However, the development of modern blowtorches continued through the 19th century. For example, Carl Richard Nyberg invented the first prototype of a soldering blowtorch in 1882, and John Summerfield Hull, often referred to as the "Father of the American Blow Torch," made significant contributions to their design from 1866 through 1878.

Ophiocordyceps unilateralis was discovered in 1859. Perhaps this is where the zombies in Hunt originated?

The modern zombie concept, as we know it, emerged in popular culture in the late 1960s with George A. Romero's film "Night of the Living Dead" (1968), but the origins of the zombie myth can be traced to Haitian folklore and Vodou traditions dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
