Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

Why is there no frame generator + nvidia reflex yet?
Crytek, will you ever introduce frame generation and nvidia reflex to the game? It's already a 2 year old technology, which came out even before you updated the game to 1896.

We know that a game is not easy to optimize, but many of us are forced to upgrade the CPU because the game does not fully utilize our GPU. I am really fed up with the stuttering that the game has and always had. I have a 4070 ti super and sometimes I feel like the game runs below 60fps, it's a horrible experience.

Crytek must feel so worthless... guys paying 1000s of $ for GPUs for this 20 bug game they bought many years ago, just to see it still runs crappy 🤣🤣🤠

no issues running it here on a 4070Ti @ 1440p...runs pretty smooth

That's why I mentioned the CPU, I don't want to buy a processor with 3D cache just to play 2 or 3 poorly optimized games. Frame generation gives us that advantage

doesnt frame generation also give you a disadvantage vs those that are not using it though and are seeing true frames?

Yes, there is a disadvantage, it is something that is there, but we are talking about something that is so "small" that it is impossible to notice with the naked eye. In addition, for this we have nvidia reflex, and a few days ago reflex 2 was announced...

fair, was a genuine Q as it isnt somthing ive ever used in all my time in pc building/gaming i turn DLSS etc off in my games. i find my 5800x3d and 4070Ti run em all fine

You have an excellent processor, it takes full advantage of your GPU, it even works great for a 4080. I have a 5600x, for the vast majority of games it is still incredible, but games like hunt or tarkov, 3d technology has a VERY noticeable improvement.

yea i love my cpu, anytime i get tempted to upgrade from it i see no real reason to thx to the x3d

Frame Generation will introduce Input Lag.
Also there is the Interpolation that might introduce to you jittery or simply wrong placement
of where the hunters really are (more than the internet lag)
also it will affect your action that you take, you might initiate an action but it will take place in another frame since previous generated frame would be taken into account.

you might think it's not noticable for the eye but it will cause you problem.
as a rule of thumb, FG does not fit for the ideal online shooters,
it's good for Solo Campaign games.

you have a great card and i would suggest to try to solve the problem you have.
try doing a clean install of nvidia driver (after using the DDU TOOL)
go to windows Graphics Settings, make sure "hardware-accelerated GPU..." is On and add Huntgame.exe with a high priority.
you can probably find a guide online that is more detailed than that.

If you turn off DLSS in Graphics the setting will show up with Reflex or Reflex+Boost.
Though you cant use them simultaneously

Frame generation adds latency, which is something you definitely don’t want in a PVP shooter. Reflex won’t cover that.

But yeah, even with the engine update, the engine is still dated. We finally got dlss/fsr now but they still use no real AA just some tricks that may clear edges but adds a lot of blur/glare to the picture.

And it could use some performance optimization.

Well the new frame gen might be a game changer to a lot of games, but I guess in these kinda games the added latency will still be a problem.
I remember when newer gpu's generated more actual frames.

I'm fine with upscaling in a pvp game, but not frame gen. I'd be fine if they never added it.

please no, frame generation adds a lot of input lag, not to mention that it also adds a lot of jittering, ghosts and another kind of weird stuff that will affect your gameplay.

Frame gen is garbage. All it does is make the game look like it was made in 2002. Seriously, it has got to be the worst technology to come to gaming. It gives the devs an excuse for making games that run like crap. Go back before frame gen was introduced and you will see that games actually looked better back then.

Please don't promote that crap.
