He has played it for a couple years and when the devs heard that they probably thought they could get him to be a character for cheap or free.

To be fair out of all the events they have done this one has alot of unique in-game content with the circus tent and bear dood to the zombies that laugh. thematically they did a good a job. I don't care about post malone but I do like all the clown skins in the game. I can now be myself in hunt showdown.

They saw him play it and offered him $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Its pretty simple.

Or even worse they asked him to check it out and it was not even him discovering it on his own.

I agree, so many new cool guns, cool traits, circus is fun and i never made so much money...
