Old Hunt vs New Hunt
Been playing since early access, and have a few things to say on the current state of the game and am interested in what everyone else thinks.

It is not a controversial thing to say that the game is in a very poor state at the moment. The bugs and server issues are as bad as they were during early access, and the player count has dropped to reflect that, again almost as low as they were during early access. This feels like a massive regression for a game that is seven years old, and I feel like that Hunt has lost its original atmosphere and identity, compare these two trailers for instance, one old, one new.

The first trailer shows the game as a dark, serious competitive shooter, whilst the second trailer could be mistaken for a different game entirely, more akin to something like Killing Floor rather than Hunt: Showdown, and while I don't doubt that update 2.2 will introduce some interesting features, can it honestly be said that it fits within the theme of the game? It feels so far removed from what Hunt is supposed to be, and demonstrates a clear lack of focus and understanding from the developers.

I also take issue with a number of features currently present in the game, namely the ones that remove the subtlety from the game. Dark sight, glowing clues and boss whispers. I have never liked these features from when they were first introduced, and I understand that they were only added because camping was a much bigger issue than it is now, but it removes a lot of the tension which made Hunt so great, the fear of not knowing who may or may not be waiting for you, and having to find out the hard way.

Nowadays, dark sight pinpoints the exact location of all enemy players, negating their ability to ambush the bounty holders, and removing the fear of not knowing. Originally, the holder of the bounty was supposed to become the new target and have a constant feeling of "everyone is out to get you," though it hardly feels like that when you give them literal wallhacks.

Boss whispers and glowing clues likewise remove a lot of the tension, you could spend the whole match not making any sound, only for your position to be given away for the crime of pursuing the objective, all of your time and effort wasted. Granted these are intended as anti-camping mechanics, and have been in the game for so long that it feels weird talking about a time when they didn't exist, but perhaps they could be tweaked in a way that punish players who spend too much time sitting by clues/bosses, and only glowing red for players that don't.

I also dislike the over-saturation of legendary hunters, as well as some of their designs. Originally, hunters came in 3 different tiers, each looking practical and baddass in their own way, especially the tier 3 hunters, but nowadays we have Ghostface and next patch we will have literal clowns (and Harley Quinn?) running around, this does not fit the theme of a game where you are hunting monsters in a zombie-infested swamp so that you can banish them back to hell, this is Hunt: Showdown, not Killing Floor.

I want to re-experience the tension and horror of the old Hunt: Showdown, no other game comes close to how I felt playing it back then, and I think it is sad but true to say that Hunt: Showdown will never offer that experience again.

without it they don't understand what to do
we need a petition to return him to the post of leading leader
but maybe he's not interested anymore

magnus labrant would be definitely a better creative director and leader as dennis schwarz

since hunt left the early access it mutated under dennis leadership to a hipster fortnite game and not a horror game where you hunting bosses for cash

Hunt is a mountain dew + dorritos tier product now. David Fifield killed the game with his greed.
