Hunt: Showdown 1896

There are too many explosives in this game now!
What attracted me to Hunt was the slow paced tactical nature. Every shot counts, any gun can kill.
Recently every other game there's at least one team running around with explosive crossbows, explosive semi auto crossbows, dynamite, frags.
Its beyond annoying. Once every now and again fine but at the moment it doesnt even feel like Hunt anymore.
Remove explosive bolts! and get rid of revive bolt while you are at it!

i will agree with explosives reduction when every boss lair i approach stops having 6-20+ conce wires deployed. Conce trips/bomb/bow are a bigger issue then a ammo type that you can almost completely brush off for 2 points 50% dmg reduction bulwork

The original Hunt concept has long gone unfortunately.
I hate explosives, particularly explosive arrows as much as anyone, but i can tell you one thing. The Crossbow with Explosive arrows is the best Anti-Cheat this game has.

People forget how effective bulwark really is. There is a reason it is so cheap now...if you get stuck with a cho ku boom bolt it only does 50dmg
Just to clarify I dont mean explosive ammo on rifles or pistols. Thats fine and mostly underpowered as has already been said.
My issue is that it is unfun to approach a compound or be defending a boss lair just to be essentially mortar striked for the next 10 minutes.
Im playing a game based in the 1890s and feel like im in a world war 2 trench.
What significantly buffed explosives, and I don't see any mention of it here, was the addition of surefoot. Not only does it ruin the way healing works in Hunt, but it makes explosives much easier to use.

I had a match recently where my random trio and the bounty team were spamming frags at each other while sprinting. It was ridiculous, felt like I was playing Bomberman instead of Hunt. It never should've been added as a permanent trait. That is only one in a long line of many lame, inconsiderate additions to Hunt.

I used to get excited about every dev stream, back when they still did those before releasing updates. I liked most of the changes and new gear that was added. Even when it was something that I didn't like I could see the logic and reasoning behind it. Everything made sense. Now it's the opposite of excitement. It's enough to read the patch notes for me to start rolling my eyes, because it's obvious that this or that thing is going to be overpowered without even trying it. Hunt has fallen off hard and it shows.
