Invisible Hunter

I just died in two matches in a row where I was looking directly where the enemy hunter was who shot me and no hunter was visible. The first was in the circus tent. They were popping balloons in the booth. I could see no hunter. The second was at Wolf's Head. They were crouch walking on a tin roof directly above me. I was looking at a hole in the edge of the roof and they shot me from that hole. That player was from New Zealand according to their profile. I won't even get into the fact that they had no reason to know where I was. They were making noise. I was not. Is this a case of ping abuse or something else? This is not the first time. It is maybe the first time I have died to the same issue in two consecutive matches. I am getting tired of this happening.

Yeah no ♥♥♥♥ Sherlock of course he was on the roof, I could hear him sneaking above you. I watched the first clip on pc now and I couldn't see the Hunter that killed you, but that could be explained by the quality of the footage. You can't really make out the details that well, it's too blurry.

Basically there's nothing to see here. If this made you think your opponent was cheating then there's no wonder everyone is complaining about cheaters left and right.

The video quality is fine. I watched it a few times. Don't maximize the window. Skill issue. lol. Where do you people keep getting the idea that I am posting about a cheating issue? Reading comprehension issue?

You didn't say it was cheats but it was implied with "something else". Either way there's nothing suspicious about these clips. I can understand being confused about the first one, but the second one? Please! You can hear him sneaking above you and if you watch frame by frame you can also see your killer.

Well yeah in this case there's not much to see. I think I can make out a silhouette of a head, but that could also be my confirmation bias.

It sucks to die to an opponent you can't see, but it is what it is. This mostly happens to me on night maps. Even bushes can be hostile lol.

That specific corner is way to dark to see anything. Does your game actually look like this or is it the footage? If this is how you play you need to increase gamma a bit. Not to ridiculous levels mind you, but so you can see.

Did you see the screen shot? From the kill view he should be standing roughly below the left balloon. Maybe just to the left of that, but not really in the shadow. I don't think.

That is how the game appears to me. I guess I can adjust my gamma, but it wouldn't have helped with the other situation in daylight with a blue sky behind the hunter.

I hear about people using re-shader to make things easier to see. I don't use anything. I don't claim to be fantastic, but I did make it to 4 stars. The cheating over the past year pushed me down to 1 star. I fought my way back to 3 stars, then cheating in the previous event pushed me back down to 2 stars. I played on a team last night with a 4 star and a 3 star. We got pasted 4 matches in a row by cheaters. The last one by a single player landing head shots through walls with a Springfield Shorty and Dum Dum ammo. Radar, aimbot and magic bullet, maybe?

I have encountered plenty of players using some form of aim assist and either radar or esp or both. I recently watched a YT video from a certain Twitch streamer playing Hunt with a partner. They were having a financial discussion while this guy was casually strolling through compounds shooting hunter after hunter in the head. None of these hunters were visible. Some were behind walls. Some were back in the dark looking out windows from 5m+ away. The comments from his fanboys were all positive. They seemed to think he was awesome. It just looked boring to me. Why bother playing if the game is effortless and you can't be defeated?

Some of the big names definitely are. One had his primary account banned temporarily for using auto-trigger. He also uses radar. One openly admitted on one of his streams that he is using radar. He said he runs it on a tablet PC he has on his lap while he records his videos. I watched a bit of another stream for Twitch drops where one streamer was using some kind of aim assist that snapped his crosshairs onto targets' heads and kept them locked onto the target while he was jumping and dodging. He could shoot with 100% accuracy while being very hard to hit. It even worked with AI targets.

The second one you couldn't see him because he was above your field of view. You can't see that roofline in your field of view. You can clearly see him if you slow the speed down to .25 and as you die he is standing right above you.

I had already looked there about 2 seconds before the start of the clip. As others have stated, the invisible hunter becomes visible as you die.

Sorry, this is the first time I have used Steam's new video clip tool. Definitely a skill issue there. I should have started the clip a few seconds earlier. I could easily hear them above me and looked everywhere along the edge of the roof and the walkway between buildings. I had just looked where they shot me from. I thought I captured that in the video, but apparently not. They had a partner inside the lair as well, so there were occasional noises from there. The hunter that shot me had no reason to know where I was. I did make some noise with an Immolator on the way in, so they knew someone was about and dark sight would have flashed red, but my exact location should not have been known.

I had a weird thing happen earlier. I have Dusters as part of my load out. When I outfitted my new hunter, I had no Dusters. Just an empty spot. I checked my loadout and it showed an exclamation point on the missing Dusters. Dusters were not in my inventory. I had to run a knuckle knife. Now Dusters are back. I hate the Knuckle Knife. I can't deliver a solid punch without it stabbing. Not good for fighting the Immolator.
