Text Chat is not working since Circus update

I struggle to use the text chat since the update with the Circus.

Outside in the menu it is constantly greyed out, but showing a number of quite a lot of text messages.
While in game, the chat doesn´t show up at all. I can type but it never shows and it blocks my input till i use "ESC" and go back into the game.

Any ideas to fix this?

Super late reply, but afaik there's no fix other than restarting the game. I have this issue every 1-3 games and it doesn't go away until the game is restarted. Very annoying, it even happens with in-game voice chat.

I hope they fix this soon, because communication in this game is vital.

Voice chat doesn't work most of the time either, just another day dealing with Cryteks BS.

I noticed they seperated the ingame voice chat - now games are mostly dead silent. The possibility to hear everyone and not just friends was what made some very fun interactions in hunt. That´s totally gone now.

And yeah - text based chat as well, i never seem to be able to open it unless i am in a multiplayer lobby with other people. Then it works. If i am sole or if i am ingame - it´s dead.

I have the correct bindings, it just flat out won't work half the games. Neither all ( even though it's ONLY for enemies), nor friend chat.

Only solution - use an external tool like discord and ts3 and exclusive play together with friends.

That's all we use, but occasionally it's fun to converse with random enemies in game. No more apparently.
