Text chat box

Up in the right hand corner while in the lobby next to the team icons there is what looks like a text chat icon. Never noticed it before but now all of a sudden I noticed numbers in red next to it. Assuming it means conversations.
The icon itself it grayed out though.
Any have any idea what this is and why I can not open the texts?

I believe it means that you have missed text messages that you didn't read or clear. I have six and it's annoying me that I can't view or click on the box to mark them read.

It is very annoying. All of a sudden it started too. Pain in the arse! LoL
Thanks for confirming what I thought it was. Now we have to figure out how to stop/clear it. Haha

Definitely a pain in the arse. I'm hoping that if there's not a workaround to getting the messages cleared, Crytek hotfixes it soon so it can stop flashing. Good luck out there in the Bayou, bud.

Anyone come across a resolution for this issue? I have 16 messages which I can't read or clear.

When you have another player join you during search it should light up and let you click on it, but if it's just you in the lobby it will stay grayed out.

Not sure how they can even send me messages since mine is blacked out and I can't send messages.

yeah, pray for better people to work on the UI, that's all you can do. Or uninstall and leave a negative review saying how nothing ever gets fixed.
