How do you increase your mmr in this game ?

I sometimes match people I have no idea how they even have 3 stars, what are the criterias for the stars

killing higher star hunters increases your rank, its not kd.

Definitely not kills. I'm out here with a 1.8 K/d and most of my random teammates are 1.2-1.4 k/d.

It is kills, not your k/d but just kills, if you kill a lot of games in a row you will go up
But if the people you kill are lower than you say you are 5 and they are 3/4 you will go up slowly, and if they kill you, you will go down massively

It is K/D, its just takes MMR difference into account.
for example if you 5 star you will need to kill like 1000 1 star players to become 6 star.
If you 1 star player and you kill 5 star player - you almost instantly jump to 3-4 starts
