I noticed that your DDR4 clock speed is at a rather slow 2400MHz. Is your RAM configured properly? I’d check your motherboard UEFI BIOS settings and see what your RAM is running at and if there are XMP profiles available. For gaming and DDR4 RAM; 2933MHz and up is ideal for best memory performance. I run 32GB 3200MHz DDR4 in my PC. Very nice system BTW and hopefully you can get your RAM up to speed as the rest of your machine is excellent.
I have i7 6700K, 16gb ddr4, RTX 2060. max settings 2560x1080 60~80 fps avg but framedrops to 40/50 this game is ass
It’s not all entirely the game. I definitely have a feeling it’s slow RAM and perhaps a mis-configuration somewhere on your system. Your system is high-end and pairing it with slow 2400MHz RAM seems like a mis-match to me. On high-end PCs like yours, I usually see 2933MHz or faster RAM.
There is definitely a RAM configuration issue unless you opted to buy the slow 2400MHz RAM in the first place. Usually pre-built PC are configured with slower RAM so that the OEMs can save money by cheaping out. But your PC looks to be a custom DIY build like mine.
If indeed your RAM is a factory 2400MHz kit, then the best thing would be to sell this RAM and buy a nice fast 3200MHz like what I have. I run 32GB (2x16GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz DDR4 RAM and it is great all-round, and is highly stable and compatible. It’s definitely one of the best RAM kits for Intel Z-series chipset motherboards like what we have; mine’s a Z370.
If you can find out the make, model, and speed of your RAM ie; Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 DDR4 as an example, that would really help us solve this problem. HWiNFO64 is a great free program in finding out the ins and outs of your setup, Speccy is another good one but more basic, and there is also CPU-Z. Once we know what RAM you are running, then we can further help you in getting up to speed.
I almost never dip below triple digits at 1440p with a 2070S, 9700K, 16gb DDR4-3200 (high object detail and texture quality only, everything else low/off), usually 120+ unless it's certain spots on Desalle, so it's highly unlikely it's a game thing; dips into 40 territory are absolutely not normal unless you're absolutely maxing things at very high resolutions.
Glad we were able to help you with your RAM. At these overlocked speeds, hopefully you will be able to maintain long-term stability. As your RAM lacks XMP tells me it could be a generic OEM kit or one designed for AMD systems; both of which lack XMP. For an enthusiast class Z-series motherboard to lack XMP settings in the UEFI is puzzling. My only guess with your board is that for XMP settings to show, you have to have XMP compliant RAM installed. Main thing your RAM has really helped out the performance of Hunt: Showdown at the new 3000MHz overclocked speed and that it is running stable. Glad to help out. :)
Make sure you Motherboard Bios is up-to-date check ram is configured to correct speed in bios test with XMP on/off .
In Hunt Game make sure FPS is uncapped & set FPS >9000 then test

This is the RAM i have... so it should work with XMP but i checked 3 Times now and i dont have the XMP Setting... I updated Bios but nothing...
