This is nonsense, because I also change the DPI depending on the weapon. Changing the sensitivity of the mouse is quite legitimate.
You friend is trying to cover up the fact he cheated with some bullspit claim. Ask him to tell the truth then remind him that a large contingent of Hunt players use DPI changing mice every day, without being banned.
HOWEVER.. if you download software that assists you with actual aiming itself and it lines the target up for you. THAT IS A BAN. and will result in the loss of your game and everything in it.
It's VERY hard to get banned in Hunt in general, short of serious cheating or being VERY abusive on a regular basis.
Minor things like auto hotkey are just...blocked...they don't even ban for it.
Lastly, hardware changes such as overlay cross hairs on monitors, DPI on mouse, etc- can't even be detected in the first place.
There are other programs that are used for making some mice and controllers work and they have caused issues before, but generally because they were programs used mostly for doing as said, auto correcting for recoil.
So most likely your friend used a program that wasn't just for changing dpi and may have used the other features or not, but it got detected as an interfering program.
