Ive tried the hyper-aggressive style
But too often you run into someone else, corner camping with a shotty
IF you are first to the lair, shotties are in a strong position
But otherwise, its very iffy at best
You kinda answered your own question, quartermaster with something long range.
But as a solo, i'm usually running a free Hunter with little to no traits.
The way I've done it in the past is the "don't banish" strategy. Get to the lair first, kill boss, trap the hell out of the lair and wait for someone to stumble into your funhouse.
Problem is, this is easily countered by the enemy just going to the other boss and getting the dark sight boost from there, allowing them to sniff you out. Most people are not stupid enough to start wandering through a compound with an obviously dead boss.
As for weapons, Specter Bayonet with slugs, and whatever pistol you prefer. I like the Pax with dum dums.
Same, at least, SOMETHING with Dum-Dum
The bleed is nice to force an enemy to heal for longer
I feel nobody else uses Dum Dums
Do vitality shots stop bleeds?
I kinda always assumed that they dont
The trick, obviously, is getting that first kill, after which you have the advantage of a point-and-click boomstick designed specifically for what you will be doing.
Stalking and then rushing once they're distracted by something is generally the approach if you aren't able to door/corner camp. It's not that hard to sneak in this game if people aren't expecting to see you. If you can bring a dolch or quartermastered range weapon, use that at absolutely no less than medium range to get a quick pick if you're able, and then close the distance as quickly as possible. Don't take any engagements if you aren't within a decent rushing range.
In all honesty though, just take this same advice but use a mosin with bayonet instead. There's little reason not to, given the unreliability of shotguns and the benefit of a real, solid rifle.
".....back to menus" xDDD
this made my day xDDD
They do.
We'll be seeing a lot more dum dum when they get buffed in 1.6. Springfield dum dum might be the new Sparks.
Lately ive been having fun with hatchet romero and twin conversions with dum dum.
